ObjectiveThe topic used a randomized controlled design scheme. By clinical observations of symptoms and sign improve situation of Parkinson's disease (PD) patients before and after treatment and comparison of the use condition of western medicines, the curative effects of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice'tremor relieving soup in the adjuvant treatment of PD were objectively evaluated, which could provide a Chinese and Western medicine integrative effective way to treat PD.MethodA total of 72 patients met the diagnosis, inclusion and exclusion criteria of PD were enrolled. The 72 PD patients were randomly divided into a treatment group and a control group, Patients in the two groups were both given pramipexole at an initial dose of 0.125 mg for three times a day (TID). For patients with disease progression, the patients were supplemented with Madopar at an initial dose of 62.5 mg for twice a day (BID). Patients in the control group were only given western medicine treatment. Patients in the treatment group were given a radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup on the basis of western medicines. The treatment course of the two groups both lasted for three months. Before and after treatment of PD treatment group and the control group were subjected to the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) scoring and traditional Chinese medical symptomatology quantitative classification scale scoring. The western medicine application type and dose of PD patients in the two groups were recorded.Result1. Effects of the combination of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup and western medicine on UPDRS scoring of PD patientsThere were both differences in the UPDRS total score of patients in the treatment group before and after the treatment, and in the control group before arid after the treatment (both P <0.05). After treatment, the UPDRS total score of the treatment group (18.4706 ± 6.3065) showed statistically significant differences with the control group (20.8286 ± 5.4691) (P< 0.05); According to the response rate calculated by the UPDRS, the response rate was higher in the treatment group (85.29%) than that in the control group (77.14%). After treatment, there were significant differences in the daily living activity and motor function scores.in the UPDRS between the treatment group and the control group (both P< 0.05). However, there showed no significant differences in the mental, behavioral and emotional scores as well as complication scores in the UPDRS between the treatment group and the control group (all P> 0.05).2. Effects of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup on patients' traditional Chinese medical symptomatologyThere was a statistically significant difference in the total score of the traditional Chinese medical symptomatology quantitative classification scale in the treatment group before and after treatment and in the control group before and after treatment (P< 0.05). The traditional Chinese medical symptomatology score curative effect showed a statistically significant difference between the treatment group and the control group (P<0.05) and the total effective rate in the treatment group was higher than that in the control group, showing the curative effect was more excellent in the treatment group than that in the control group. After treatment, the hand slow movements, gait, tremor, facial features, speech, and self-care ability scores were all significantly lower than those before treatment (all P<0.05). The limb spasm arrest also showed significantly improved effect in the treatment group before and after treatment, indicating that the improvement of the limb spasm arrest of the PD patients was better in the treatment group compared to the control group.3. Effects of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup on the choice of western medicine types and dosesThe dose of the pramipexole in the treatment group was obviously lower than that in the control group (P= 0.038), indicating that the use of traditional Chinese medicines can reduce the dose of the pramipexole. In terms of the additional use of Madopar due to the need of disease condition, the use ratio was 15:35 in the control group while was 4:34 in the treatment group (P= 0.003844), showing a statistically significant difference. There was also a significant difference in the use dose of the Madopar (P= 0.0358), showing a statistically significant difference. The above results indicated that the application of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup can reduce types and doses of the western medicines. ConclusionThe clinical curative effect of the use of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup on the basis of the western medicine treatment was better than that of single use of the western medicines. The combination of the radix paeoniae alba and liquorice tremor relieving soup and the western medicines can effectively improve the UPDRS score and the traditional Chinese medical symptomatology quantitative classification scale score of PD patients in an early-middle stage, can reduce the effective maintenance dose of the western medicines, and reduces the types of combined application of western medicines, thereby reducing the adverse effects caused by the western medicines.
