Objective The current study aims to understand the present situation and explore the association between anxiety and depression symptoms of pregnant women and sleep quality problems during pregnancy,finally to provide evidence for relevant departments to formulate scientific and effective intervention measures.Methods Pregnant women who attended the prenatal examination at the maternal and child health hospital of Jin'an in Lu'an city from July 2013 to December 2013,and conformed to the criteria were selected as the research object.Then women filled out a self-made questionnaire including socio-demographic,pregnancy associated factors.Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)was applied to investigate the sleep quality among pregnant women.Emotions of pregnant women were evaluated by Pregnancy-Related Anxiety Questionnaire(PRAQ),State-Trait Anxiety Inventory(STAI)and Edinburgh postnatal depressions scale(EPDS).Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the relationship between anxiety and depression symptoms of pregnant women and sleep quality during pregnancy.Results A total of 1010 pregnant women were surveyed.The prevalence of sleep quality problems was 44.7%.Results of univariate analysis showed that family average monthly income,unplanned pregnancy,state anxiety and trait anxiety,pregnancy-related anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms were associated withsleep quality problems among pregnant women.Results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that pregnancy-related anxiety symptoms(OR: 2.03;95% CI: 1.53-2.68,P<0.001),state anxiety(OR:1.62;95%CI:1.22-2.17,P=0.001),trait anxiety(OR:1.79;95%CI:1.24-2.61,P=0.002)and depressive symptoms(OR:2.57;95%CI:1.97-3.35,P<0.001)were related to sleep quality problems during pregnancy.Conclusion The sleep quality problems are common among pregnant women and can be affected by many factors.Pregnancy women with pregnancy-related anxiety symptoms,state-trait anxiety symptoms and depressive symptoms are at the increased risk of poor sleep quality.We should take comprehensive interventions to improve the sleep quality among pregnant women during pregnancy.
