Objective Two types of tonsillectomy methods in children using monopole electrotome under the nasal endoscopy and classical dissection were compared for their differences. Methods 80 children were randomly enrolled as the experimental group(n=40)and the control group(n=40).40 children in the experimental group underwent surgeries strictly on the basis of tonsillectomy operation indications.Preoperative examinations involved blood routine, biochemistry routine, blood coagulation function, immune screening, electrocardiogram and chest X-ray.After excluding operative contraindications, tonsillectomy was carried out with monopole electrotome under the nasal endoscopy. Then,we observed the amount of bleeding during the surgery, operative time, and pain, pseudomembrane growth status, bleeding status, tonsil remains, and lymphadenosis of operative cavity after the surgery.40 children in the control group underwent classical tonsillectomy, and collated indexes of intraoperation and postoperation were noticed.Collated indexes of both groups were compared and analyzed.Result Children in the experimental group showed the operative time of(14.38±0.29min),and the amount of bleeding during the surgery of(1.71±0.17ml);while children in the control group displayed the operative time of(18.20±0.50min),and the amount of bleeding during the surgery of(10.78±0.32ml).The differences suggested statistical significance between both groups on the operative time and the amount of bleeding during the surgery(P<0.05).No bleeding occurred in children in the experimental group, while delayed hemorrhage occurred in 1 child in the control group. The pain durations in experimental and control groups were(6.15±0.13d)and(6.25±0.11d)after the surgery, respectively, the differences of which indicated no obvious statistical significance for comparison(P>0.05).The deciduous durations of white pseudomembranes in both groups were(10.28±0.26d)and(10.45±0.27d),respectively,the differences of which indicated no obvious statistical significance for comparison(P>0.05).No obvious statistical significance was revealed on the degree of postoperative pain in both groups(P>0.05).No tonsil remains were detected in both groups.Lymphadenosis was observed in the lower pole of tonsil in 2 children in the control group. Conclusion Under the nasal endoscopy, monopole electrotome is used for tonsillectomy in children, which shows little bleeding during the operation, short time of operative procedure, clear operative visual field, little injury around the tissues, fast recovery wound, and can effectively reduce pain for children;hence,it is worthy of clinical application.
