Effect On Wenyangtongdu Treatment In The Patients With Neck Type Cervical Spondylosis

Objective:to provide guidance and reference for the "Wen yang tong du"moxibustion in the treatment of neck type cervical spondylosis by observating clinical utility of therapy with "Wen yang tong du" moxibustion combined with acupuncture, massage and cupping.Methods:According the random number table 72 patients with neck type cervical spondylosis according to the diagnostic standard were divided randomly into "Wen yang tong du" moxibustion group (experimental group) and conventional treatment group (control group). The patients of experimental group (36 cases) were subjected to Acupuncture in "Fengchi", " Cervical Jiaji points from 2 to 3" and "Lieque", "Hou xi", "Yaoyangguan" and "Mingmen", but in the "Yaoyangguan" and "Mingmen" with the moxibustion additionally.The control group of 36 cases:Acupuncture Bilateral Cervical Jiaji points from 2 to 3, atoke the manipulation, then treated with cupping at last.Once a day,6 times for a course of treatment,after 1 days of rest we began the second courses. The efficacy was evaluated when we finished 2 courses of treatment. According to the "standard" diagnosis of cervical spondylosis in TCM diagnostic criteria, we observed the symptoms, signs, joint function improvement and comprehensive assessment of pain index, then toke the statistical analysisin order to determine its clinical curative effect.Results:before the treatment, VAS score and cervical spondylosis 20 points method table score of the patients in the two groups is analyzed;after treatment, their scores were significantly improved, with statistical significance (P<0.05), but the VAS score in experimental group (1.88±0.60) treatment was low than control group (3.06±1.27), and 20 score table score in the experimental group (19.0±1.22) was higher than control group (18.0±1.15), indicating that compared with the control group the clinical effect of the treatment in the experimental group is more significant.Also in aspects with flexion, extension, rotation and lateral flexion,improvement in the two groups has obvious clinical curative effect with statistical significant (P<0.05). compared with the control group,especially in the experimental group the curative effect of the improvement is obvious with statistical significance (P< 0.05).Conclusion:1.The treatment of "Wen yang tong du" can improve the patient's subjective symptoms and bone joint activity significantly in the patients with cervical spondylosis.2.Compared with the ordinary acupuncture therapy,the treatment of "Wen yang tong du" method can achieve better clinical results especial in the aspect of relieving pain symptoms and joint mobility in the patients with neck type of cervical spondylosis.
