Objective:To discuss the clinical features and related factors of dialysis patients with restless legs syndrome, to provide a scientific basis for the pathogenesis of uremic restless legs syndrome and also provide comprehensive prevention and control. Methods:Hemodialysis patients and peritoneal dialysis patients, who dialyzed at one hospital outpatient in Shaoxing, Zhejiang Province up to November,2015, were collected with the method of epidemiological field survey. The total number of cases was 301. It was the general condition, laboratory inspection, inspection results, and chief complaints of clinical discomfort that mainly had been collected. Patients were compared and matched on the basis of ages, sexes, dialysis ages, dialysis methods (peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis) and primary diseases, which provided information for the design of case-control study. They were then divided into the positive group (u-RLS group) and the negative group (Nu-RLS group) of restless legs, which contained 76 cases of u-RLS group and 149 cases of Nu-RLS group. Apart from the comparison between two groups, the correlation between various factors and the uremic restless legs syndrome was analyzed by means of multivariate methods. According to whether there was diabetes mellitus among matched patients, patients were divided into the diabetes group (44 cases) and non-diabetes group (181 cases).Differences between two groups were compared. In positive group, the constituent ratio of various syndrome types could be calculated based on the syndrome differentiation of traditional Chinese medicine. Besides, the correlation between different TCM syndrome types and u-RLS was analyzed from the compared and matched cases. Results:Both 225 compared and matched case and non-diabetes group provide the information that the inter-group differences among insomnia, limb numbness, serum creatinine, serum ?2-microglobulin, serum calcium, the lever of serum parathyroid hormone (PTH), serum ferritin and the concentration of serum vitamin B12 exert statistical significance on the research (P<0.05). Logistic regression analysis has shown that PTH, serum creatinine, and serum ?2-microglobulin are risk factors of the uremia restless legs syndrome, and the serum ferritin and the concentration of serum vitamin B12 are the protective factors of the uremia restless legs syndrome. In diabetes group, the inter-group differences among insomnia, limb numbness, the concentration of serum vitamin B12 and serum ferritin are of statistical significance (P<0.05). the concentration of serum vitamin B12 and serum ferritin are the protective factors of the uremia restless legs syndrome with respective OR values of 0.998 (95%CI:0.996,1.000)?0.659 (95%CI:0.480,0.905). The result of TCM syndrome types for uremia restless legs syndrome patients has shown that patients who suffer from kidney deficiency syndrome, stasis arthralgia and rheumatism at the same time account for the maximum proportion of 28.9%. There exists the difference between negative and positive restless legs patients on kidney deficiency syndrome, stasis arthralgia. Moreover, kidney deficiency syndrome is the risk factor of u-RLS with the OR value of 1.920 (95%CI:1.074, 3.432).Conclusion:1. In 225 cases of matching cases, the level of micromolecule urotoxins (serum creatinine), and macro-and mid-molecule urotoxins (PTH and serum J32-microglobulin) between uremia restless legs syndrome represents the positive correlation. The same results are analyzed when the diabetic group was removed.2. The level of the concentration of serum vitamin B12 and serum ferritin between uremia restless legs syndrome represents the negative correlation in diabetes group.3. Among u-RLS patients, patients who suffer from kidney deficiency syndrome, stasis arthralgia and rheumatism at the same time account for the maximum proportion of 28.9%. Among the four syndrome types of kidney deficiency syndrome, stasis arthralgia, rheumatism and liver wind, the number of rheumatism patient is of maximum.4. There exists the difference between negative and positive restless legs patients on kidney deficiency syndrome, stasis arthralgia. Moreover, kidney deficiency syndrome is the risk factor of u-RLS.
