Objective: To evaluate the benefits of psychological intervention in the rehabilitation of patients with poststroke depression. Methods: 60 patients with poststroke depression admitted to the General Hospital of Ningxia Medical University from August, 2014 to January, 2016 were enrolled and randomly divided into the treatment group and the control group, with 30 patients in each group. All the patients underwent the secondary prevention of stroke and the rehabilitation training in addition to the conventional treatment, while patients in the treatment group were given standardized psychological intervention treatment for a 2-month treatment circle and followed up for 4 months, with once or twice in a month. The 24-item version of the Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD), the National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS), the Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS) and the Activity of Daily Living Scale(ADL) were performed on all the patients in the two groups before and after the treatment, and the benefits of psychological intervention in patients with poststroke depression were evaluated and analyzed according to the test results. The software SPSS 17.0 was adopted for the analysis of data, the independent samples t-test for comparison between the two groups, the paired t-test for data before and after the treatment, two independent samples t-tests and the Mann Whitney test for score reductions in scales before and after the experiments, the Spearman's correlation for the analysis of correlation. Results: 1. During the observation of HAMD scores, significant differences(P <0.05) appeared in comparison between the treatment group and the control group 2 months after the treatment. 2. During the observation of NHISS scores, significant differences(P <0.05) appeared in comparison between the treatment group and the control group 2 months after the treatment. 3. During the observation of ADL, significant differences(P <0.05) appeared in comparison between the treatment group and the control group 2 months after the treatment.4. During the observation of SSRS after the standardized psychological intervention treatment, significant differences(P <0.05) appeared in comparison between the treatment group and the control group 2 months after the treatment.5. After the psychological intervention, comparisons between the treatment group and the control group showed that the score reducing rates in HAMD in the treatment group and the control group were(16.26?3.94) and(9.3?8.11),respectively, that the score reducing rates in NHISS in the treatment group and the control group were(8.57?3.01) and( 5.7?3.13), respectively, that the score reducing rates in ADL in the treatment group and the control group were(25.67?7.14) and(15.67?5.60), respectively and that the mean values of social support in the treatment group and the control group were increased and decreased by(1.93?4.25) and(-4.17?4.55). 6. The correlation analysis was performed between the patients' gender, personality, education levels, whether spouses were still alive and the HAMD scores, the results showing that HAMD was closely correlated with personality(r =-0.277) and whether spouses were still alive(r = 0.654) and that it was positively correlated with education levels(r = 0.281), but have no correlated with gender(r =-0.242).Conclusion: 1.The standardized psychological intervention can improve depressed mood and neural functional recovery in patients with PSD,cooperate with the ability of social support and daily.2.The data indicate the patient with introverted, highly educated and widowed, have high risk factors of depression after stroke.
