Objective: To investigate the clinical features and risk factors of patients with sepsis in ICU, thus provide the reference for clinical diagnosis and treatment for sepsis. Methods: Retrospective analysis of 112 patients with sepsis in the Intensive Care Unit of the first hospital affiliated to Fujian Medical University on January 1, 2013-February 29, 2016, divide all the patients into death and survival groups according to the clinical outcome, and elderly group(60 or higher) and non elderly group(< 60 years old) according to the age, analysis age, sex, basic disease, APACHE ? score on admission, invasive operation, prior use of immunosuppressants and radiation or chemotherapy before sepsis, blood culture results and prior use of antibiotics between the two groups, contrast the differences between the two groups. All the data using SPSS 21.0 statistical software for statistical analysis. Results: In the 112 patients with sepsis, the age, incidence of septic shock, APACHE? scores on admission, the quantity of basic diseases in the death group(n = 66) is higher than the survival group(n = 46), the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01). There are 54 patients with at least one kind of basic diseases in the death group, and 28 patients with at least one kind of basic diseases in the survival group, all was given priority to with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cancer, chronic kidney disease(CKD).Elderly group(n = 46) and non-elderly group(n = 66) have 36 patients and 45 patients have at least one kind of basic diseases respectively, which with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, cancer, CKD as the main. Elderly group based on age, the quantity of basic diseases and deaths, hospitalization days were higher than the non-elderly group, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.01). All patients were accompanied by infection of other parts, the majority infection was from respiratory and digestive system, urinary system, nervous system and trauma infection was also common. All patients have the hemoculture, patients of blood culture positived were 80 cases, positive rate was 71.43%; A total of 85 patients with deep venous catheter, 35 patients have culture in the head of deep vein catheter, inspection rate was 41.18%, the conductor head culture positive patients was 14 cases, the positive rate was 40.00%. Blood specimens and the conductor head specimens had detected 126 strains of pathogenic bacteria strains, of which, klebsiella pneumoniae bacterium in the first place, accounting for 17.46%. All specimens, a total of 306 strains pathogenic bacteria were detected, of which, white candida and acinetobacter baumannii were the most, distribution accounted for 22.22% and 16.67%.Conclusion: The most common infection of ICU sepsis patients is respiratory and digestive system, the most common pathogenic bacteria is Gram-negative bacteria. Age, APACHE ? score on admission, basic diseases and septic shock can be used as forecast indicator for sepsis.
