Objective: The primary aim of this study was to explore the effcet of clinicopathologic factors on the prognosis of patients with stage II colon cancer. Methods:A total of 320 patients with stage II colon cancer who had received radical surgery, treated from January 2009 to May 2014,were restropecribely analyzed, such as gender, age, preoperative CEA level, preoperative CA199 level,T stage, vascular invasion, size of tumor, obstruction, perforation, number of Lymph nodes examined. Results:All patients were followed up till October 1,2015,and the mean time of follow-up was(34.4±17.6) mouths. The 5-year DFS and OS were 87.7% and 89.5 %respectively.Univariate analysis showed that age ?60 years(P=0.048),preoperative CEA level(P=0.006),size of tumor(P=0.029),approach of surgery(P=0.023) were significant prognostic factors for DFS. Age(P=0.044),approach of surgery(P=0.040)were the prognostic factors for OS.Multivariate analysis showed that preoperative CEA level(HR:2.911,95%CI:1.334-6.353,P=0.007)was an independent prognostic factor for DFS.Conclusions:Preoperative CEA level ?5ug/ml is the independent risk factor for survival of patients withe stage II colon cancer.
