Objective:To investigate the expressions of CD44 splice variant 6 and matrix metalloproteinases-9 in the patients with endometriosis of different r-AFS stages. To analysis the relationship between them and clinical significance in the production and development of ectopic endometriosis.Method:The expression and association of CD44v6 and MMP-9 was detected by immunohistochemistry in the ectopic and eutopic endometrium from 53 cases with endometriosis of different r-AFS stages and 43 cases of control endometrium.The results were analyzed by SPSS 19.0 statistical software,and chi-square test and Pearson method were used to assess the relationship between them. P<0.05 said there was statistical significance.Result:(1) The expression of CD44v6 in the eutopic endometrium was higher than that in the ectopic endometrium and control group(P<0.05).The expression in the ectopic endometrium had no statistic significant compared with the control group(P>0.05).The expression of CD44v6 in secretory phase endometrium was significant1 y higher than in proliferative phase endometrium(P<0.05).(2) The expression of MMP-9 in the eutopic endometrium of endometriosis was significant higher than that in the ectopic and control group(P<0.05).The expression in the ectopic endometrium was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The expression of CD44v6 in secretory phase endometrium was significant1 y higher than in proliferative phase endometrium(P<0.05).(3) CD44v6 and MMP-9 in stages III~IV were higher than those in stages I~II(P <0.05).However,both in the ectopic group showed no difference in various r-AFS stages(P >0.05)(4) There was a positive correlation between CD44v6 and MMP-9(r=0.41,=10.90,P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) The high expression of CD44v6 in the eutopic endometrium indicated that CD44v6 has relationship with the process of adhesion and planting in the endometriosis.(2) The high expression of MMP-9 in the eutopic endometrium indicated that the ectopic endometrium has stronger ability to the degradation of ECM, MMP-9 has relationship with the process of invasion and metastasis of endometriosis.(3) The expression of CD44v6 and MMP-9 in the ectopic endometrium was stronger in late stages.(4) The combined determination of CD44v6 and MMP-9 play an important role in the diagnosis of endometriosis.Through the correlation between the two concluded that CD44v6 and MMP-9 may have synergy in the development of EMS, and play an important role in the process of invasion and planting of endometriosis. To provide theoretical basis for clinical treatment from the pathogenesis of EMS.
