| Objectives:1. Analyze the content, structure, topics of the Stomatology Doctoral Thesis in F University, and summarize the developing trends.2. Study the quality characteristics of Stomatology doctoral dissertation in F University, and simulate the quality characteristics.3. Summarize the content, quality result, to provide a reference for Stomatology research, teaching, topics selection, and a doctorate thesis, Stomatology doctoral Education quality improvement in F University.Methods:1. Through theoretical analysis and literature induction, decomposed the quality features, referred the section of University Quality Evaluation System, extracted the key elements of the core dissertation quality, summarized the connotation of each element cluster, formed a Stomatology Doctoral dissertation quality framework, which is based on normative, innovative and scientific quality.2. Dialysis the Elements of Stomatology PhD dissertation, choose quality framework as a reference, using content analysis constructs of Stomatology Doctoral dissertation content analysis system which contains research topics, nature of research, the type of literature review, study design, data collection methods, data types, statistical analysis, innovation, limitations, and further research, funding, quotations analysis, academic contribution, and citation..3. Content analysis constructs and quality analysis framework was used to analyze 568 dissertations in F University between 1990 and 2014.Results:1. The results of Stomatology PhD dissertation in F university as follows:(1) Basic information: Full-time Ph.D. accounting for 89.08%; The academic Ph.D. accounted for the main proportion, about 92.43%; Oral clinical medicine subject the majority, accounting for 82.28%.(2) Time distribution: the number of time distribution is in line with the National growth of Stomatology. The amount of Stomatology PhD has the characteristics of increased year by year.(3) Research topics: dental materials, oral repair materials, research and development of Streptococcus mutants were the major research topics.Research topics, research hotspot at home and abroad in the same period of toxicological journals are also have the difference, the research level is mainly concentrated in the cell, gene, protein level.(4) Nature of research: basic research, explaining 66.37%; applied research, progress research accounted for 23.24% and 10.26%.(5) Literature Review: traditional literature review type, accounted for 79%; systematic review of the proportion is lower, only 21%, but in recent years has increased.(6) Study design: "Experimental Study + clinical research" combination of composite research, accounts for 51%, a single type of research paper less proportion.(7) Data collection methods: the main research method of composite observation to biomedical measurement method by combining, followed by biomedical measurement, accounting for 30.46%, other methods to use less.(8) Data types: measurement data, accounting for 66.21%, enumeration data and ranked data were less, respectively 29.68%, 4.11%.(9) Statistical analysis methods: methods based on the ?statistical description+statistical inference? combination, accounting for 77.09%.(10) Innovation: second innovation accounting for 89.92%, creative innovation is less, accounted for only 10.08%.(11) Limitations: About 75.33% doctoral thesis describes the limitation, 25.67% doctoral dissertation without the limitations of the study and expounded, and this phenomenon showed a declining tendency.(12) Further research suggestions: 66.39% doctoral dissertation describes further research proposals, further research suggestions without mention of 33.61% doctoral dissertation.(13) Funding: 45.25% dissertation access(capital) fund, and financed the proportion increased year by year.(14) Citation analysis: doctoral dissertation citations 136; citation types to periodicals, books, accounted for 84%; the citations in English, accounting for 83.63%, other languages are less; Preiss index is 27.38%, and each year a larger gap, but the overall upward trend; the overall citation format was specific.(15)Academic contribution, 0.92SCI/EI and 3.32 Chinese papers in journals were published; the number of applied for fund project and the patent were less, only 3.62% and 3.70%; attend academic conferences 1.78 times, mainly in the domestic academic conference; a total of 64 doctors involved in writing, translation, correction published 129 books.(16) Citaion: A total of 40.49% of the total cited 611 times, the average cited 2.66 times, the highest is 16 times the number of single cites.2. The results of quality analysis on Stomatology Doctoral Dissertation in F University as follows:(1) The dissertations in general continue to strengthen normative, there are still some paper in the structural integrity of the expression fluency, charting application normative, regulatory citations follow ethical norms five aspect lacking, but the proportion is falling.(2) Thesis innovative continuous improvement by funding, and other aspects of academic contribution to enhance greatly.(3) Scientific of dissertations become firmly established, reliability aspects of a comprehensive literature review, scientific research design, statistical analysis and statistical inference of significant progress.(4) Compared with the excellent doctoral dissertations, the various elements of Stomatology doctoral dissertation quality balanced low in the Fund, academic contributions, cited aspects of the case are still considerable gaps. Enhance the quality of PhD thesis should be continually strengthened.Conclusion:1. The proposed quality analysis framework and content classification system, is feasible, and strong, can objectively, scientifically and truly reflect the stomatology Ph. D dissertation in F University.2. In the research content, research topics of doctoral dissertation in F University tend to diverse, compared with the same period of study abroad, research topics followed the pace of the times, and constantly on the changing, sustainable development and accumulation of performance significantly, and gradually formed its own characteristics, in certain areas of content research at the advanced level; The design of stomatology Ph. D dissertation becomes more rigorous, research methods tend composite; research to the development of mechanisms of oral disease-based, relatively few prevention, protection and promotion, still need to continue to improve and perfect.3.
