The Clinical Study For Chronic Tension-type Headache (Phlegm-stasis Blocking Collateral Type) Treating With Huo Xue Ding Tong Decoction

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of Huoxuedingtong Decoction in treating chronic tension type headache(Phlegm-stasis Blocking Collateral Type),and provide clinical evidence for TCM treatment of chronic tension type headache.Methods: Selecting 68 patients who met the inclusion criteria,randomly divided into treatment group and control group,each group had 34 cases.The treatment group was given the Huoxuedingtong Decoction in the treatment of various drugs,side in all by Luoyang second Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital pharmacy to provide,and by the Institute of medicine decocting machine unified fried,one dose daily,morning and evening services division.The control group received amitriptyline 75 mg,1 hours per night before going to bed;two groups were treated for 4 weeks.Observing and recording the changes in headache score and TCM syndrome score of patients in two groups before and after treatment.In 12 weeks after the end of treatment,patients were followed up.Gathering statistics of the two groups of patients relapse rate and comparing two groups of patients with long-term effect.Results: 1.The study included 68 cases,6 cases lost.At the end of the experiment,each group had 31 cases.According to the statistical analysis,there's no significant difference(P > 0.05)of age,gender,disease duration between two groups,thus two groups are comparable.2.Compared the clinical curative effect of the two groups,the total effective rate of the treatment group was 96.77%,and the total effective rate of the control group was 83.87%;TCM syndrome curative effect of the two groups was also compared,the treatment group total effective rate 96.77%,the control group total effective rate 87.10%;The differences of curative effect between the two comparisons has statistical significance(P < 0.05).This shows that Huoxuedingtong Decoction has better clinical efficacy than amitriptyline,which both are used to treat patients with chronic tension type headache(phlegm and blood stasis type).3.The treatment group is significantly better than the control group in relieving headaches and improving the vomiting phlegm(P < 0.05),that confirmed the blood stasis and phlegm two pathogenic factors are major causes of chronic tension type headache.4.12 weeks after treatment,the recurrence rate of the treatment group was significantly lower than that of the control group.It shows that the forward curative effect of Huoxue Dingtong Decoction in the treatment of chronic tension type headache(phlegm and blood stasis type)is better than that of amitriptyline.Conclusion: Huoxue Dingtong Decoction is better than western medicine treatment in improving the clinical symptoms of chronic tension type headache(phlegm and blood stasis type),and has the advantages of good safety and low long-term recurrence rate.It is worth the clinical promotion.
