Effect Of Tiaochang Therapy On Intestinal Function In Patients With Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome Induced By Sepsis

ObjectiveTo investigate the effect of Acupuncture combined with Xuanfei Tiaochang prescription on intestinal function in patients with ARDS patients induced by sepsis.The effect on 28-day mortality,respiratory function,immunomodulatory inflammatory response were observed,as well.To provide methods and ideas for and treating sepsis patients with gastrointestinal dysfunction.MethodUsing prospective randomized controlled clinical research methods,brought into a total of 45 ARDS patients induced by sepsis,and randomly divided into two groups,22 cases in trial group and 23cases in control group.Both of the groups treated in accordance with international guidelines.While the trail group was treated in Western medieine based on the acupuncture combined with Xuanfei Tiaochang prescription.Survival rate,APACHEΠ score,intestinal function,respiratory function,inflammatory response and relevant indicators were observed during the trail.ResultThe results showed that although the mortality of the two groups had no significant different,but the APACHE Π score decreased dramadically in the trail group.Although the results of the study failed to confirm that the combination of acupuncture and medicine combined with Xuanfei intestines can help to improve the 28-day mortality of patients with sepsis ARDS,compared with the control group,the treatment group has a significant advantage in improving the APACHEΠ score.It was found that the oxygenation index of the trail group improved significantly after treated,and the respiratory rate decreased significantly as the same time.While the control group had no significant differences after treated in the respiratory function.In addition,the intestinal function in the trail group was better than the control group after treated.In the inflammatory indicators,both of the two groups had significantly decreased after treated.And the procalcitonin decreased dramatically in the patients of trail group.ConclusionThe study suggests that,for the patients of ARDS caused by sepsis,the therapy of acupuncture combined with Xuanfei Tiaochang prescription can effecetly improve intestinal function,respiratory parameters,and inflammatory indicators,so it may have important clinical pragmatic value.Although this study had no significant influence on the 28-day mortality,which maybe related to the sample size,it may need to expand the sample size in the further.
