Objectives: To explore the relationship between the distant metastasis and prognosis of early low-risk endometrial adenocarcinoma and the expression of EpCAM,CD44v6.Methods:118 patients with early low-risk endometrial adenocarcinoma accepted primary surgical treatment from Jan.2000 to Dec.2010 at Shandong Cancer Hospital were analyzed in two groups: A group-without distant metastasis, B group-with distant metastasis. We adopted immunohistochemical method to detect the expression level of EpCAM, CD44v6 in both groups, and analyzed its relationship with the distant metastasis of early low-risk endometrial adenocarcinoma. Results: The positive rate of EpCAM were respectively30.6%(22/72) in group A and 60.8%(28/46)in group B. The CD44v6 positive rate were respectively 15.3%(11/72) in group A and 39.1%(18/46) in group B. The positive expression level of EpCAM and CD44v6 in group B were both obviously higher than that in group A(P < 0.05).Conclusions: Early low-risk patients with endometrial adenocarcinoma expressing higher EpCAM and CD44v6 prone to occur distant metastasis. So they should be closely followed up.
