Objective:The purpose of this research is that by measuring and analyzing the concentration of serum-IL-17 and the BMD in the lumbar spine(L2-L4)in postmenopausal women,as well as recording the periodontal clinical parameters to discuss the change and significance of serum-IL-17 in the course of chronic periodontitis and osteoporosis.Aiming at from the perspective of IL-17 analysis the correlation of osteoporosis and periodontitis.IL-17 as targets for treatment of postmenopausal osteoporosis and chronic periodontitis could provide certain clinical significance.Methods:1.Strictly according to the inclusion criteria, screened of a total of 80 cases of postmenopausal women, among them,20 cases of chronic periodontitis(group CP),20 cases of osteoporosis(group OP),20 cases of chronic periodontitis with osteoporosis(group CP+OP)and 20 cases of healthy controls(H group).2.Used the William periodontal probe to record probing depth(PD)and clinical attachment loss(AL).3.Used enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)to detect concentration of serum-IL-17.4.Used dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry to detect bone mineral density(BMD)of :lumbar spine(L2-L4).5.Based on the datas, used SPSS17.0 software to manage statistics analysis.Results:1.The serum-IL-17 levels of group CP(8.66 ± 1.36pg/ml),OP(15.23 ±2.25pg/ml)and CP+OP(21.88±2.23pg/ml)were significantly higher than group H(4.11±1.25 pg/ml)(P<0.05);The serum-IL-17 levels of group CP+OP were higher than group CP and OP(P<0.05).2.In the group CP,the coefficient of association between the serum-IL-17 levels and PD was r=0.532,P<0.05;the coefficient of association between the serum-IL-17 levels and AL was r=0.612,P<0.05.The serum-IL-17 levels and AL?PD were positively correlated; In the group OP,the coefficient of association between the serum-IL-17 levels and BMD was r=-0.598,P < 0.05,assuming the negative correlation relations.3.In the group CP,BMD(1.06±0.22g/cm2)were higher than group H(1.29±0.05 g/cm2)(P<0.05);in the group OP,AL?PD(1.08±0.65 mm,1.40±0.55mm)were higher than group H(0.24±0.36 mm,0.55±0.54mm)(P<0.05).4.The coefficient of association between AL and BMD was r=-0.552,r=-0.562,r=-0.624,r=-0.721,P<0.001,assuming the negative correlation relations.;The coefficient of association between PD and BMD was r=-0.581,r=-0.593,r=-0.618,r=-0.653,P<0.001.assuming the negative correlation relations.Conclusion:1.Group CP and group OP was higher than group H in terms of the concentration of serum-IL-17,showed that both periodontitis and osteoporosis could improve the serum-IL-17 levels.Group CP+OP was highest in four group, showing that periodontitis and osteoporosis could play a superimposed effect on increasing the concentration of serum-IL-17.2.In the group CP,with the increase of AL and PD,the concentration of serum-IL-17 had risen. It indicated that the higher the concentration of serum-IL-17,the heavier periodontitis disease degree..In the group OP,with the decrease of BMD,the concentration of serum-IL-17 had risen. It indicated that the higher the concentration of serum-IL-17,the heavier osteoporosisdisease degree.3.Comparing the BMD,Group CP was lower than group H,suggested that patients with chronic periodontal disease were suffering from the risk of osteoporosis;Comparing the AL?PD,group OP was higher than group H,suggested that patients with osteoporosis were also can aggravate the degree of periodontitis.4.Periodontal clinical indices AL ? PD were negative associated with osteoporosis indices BMD,proving that there was a connection between periodontitis and osteoporosis.
