Objectives:The current study aims to firstly, investigate the demographic features, anxiety level, and sleep status of the patients with Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SSNHL), and their differences with normal people; secondly, explore the characteristics of patients with different sleep conditions and their relationship with the patients'prognosis; thirdly, examine the effect of nursing intervention strategy specific to patients with SSNHL, which would provide scientific basis for clinical care.Methods:1.98 patients under 65 years old with SSNHL who were receiving regular treatment in hospital were involved in the study. General information questionnaire, SAS and PSQI were handed out to patients with SSNHL within 24 hours of hospitalization to investigate their sleep status.2. Keep track of the prognosis of the patients to analyze the relationship between their sleep status and prognosis.3. Based on medical psychology therapy, a manual Facing SSNHL, Stay Relaxed has been complied, and a discussion group on Wechat has been set up to provide nursing intervention for the patients.30 patients with SSNHL who were receiving regular treatment, were classified into the experimental group to receive the two nursing interventions, while the previous 40 patients were in the control group. The two groups' differences in their understanding of the disease, improvement in hearing, tinnitus and ear stuffiness were compared.Results:1.28.6% of the 98 patients with SSNHL have a mild level of anxiety. The total PSQI score is 6.85±3.53. The most prominent sleep problem is that the patients have to take a long time to fall asleep. And Taking hypnotics scored the lowest among the compositions. It has also been found that the sleep condition of the patients relates to their age (p=0.0078), and the younger the worse. In addition, the patients'sleep condition is correlated with their anxiety level (p<0.01).14 cases whose PSQI score is more than 12 have anxiety emotion.2. The sleep status of patients with SSNHL was positively correlated to the improvement of hearing level, but unrelated to the improvement of tinnitus (p=0.4410). The total effective rate of tinnitus in patients with SSNHL who scored less than 4 points was 87.5%. While for those who scored more than 12 points, the total effective rate was 33.3%. Furthermore, the sleep status was correlated to the improvement of ear stuffiness in patients with SSNHL (P= 0.000).3. After implementing the nursing intervention strategy, the patients'understanding of the disease in the experimental group was better than the control group when discharged, and the difference has statistical significance (p<0.05); secondly, the patients' improvement in ear stuffiness in experimental group was better than those in the control group, and the difference had statistical significance (p=0.0256); thirdly, comparing the two groups'improvement in hearing and tinnitus, there is no statistical significance (p=0.6555;p=0.5611).Conclusions:1. The patients with SSNHL, especially those who are aged between 20 and 40, are more likely to have sleep disorders. The most prominent sleep problem of them is that they take a long time to fall asleep, and most of them haven't taken any hypnotic to improve their sleep status.2. The sleep status of the patients with SSNHL has influence on their treatment effect in four weeks after the onset in terms of the improvement in hearing and subjective symptoms. A good sleep status has the possibility to improve the prognosis of patients with SSNHL.3. Although the positive nursing intervention strategies such as the manual Facing SSNHL, Stay Relaxed complied for the patients, and the communication group set up on Wechat cannot improve the patients'hearing and tinnitus, they have obviously increased the patients'understanding of the disease, and improved their symptom of ear stuffiness.
