Objective: Through investigating and analyzing the morbidity,the clinical characteristics and influence factors of the elderly cataract patients with dry eye,that play certain role in per-operation and post-operation.For per-operation,that can help doctors to evaluate the ocular surface of patients and make them understand their own detailed illness.For the possibility of the change of ocular surface disease post-operation,it can guide clinical medication and reduce medical disputesMethods: Collecting 1893 cataract patients cases who intends to surgery treatment to Nanchang University Second Affiliated Hospital Admission from2014.02.01 to 2015.04.01.These cases are more than or equal to 40 years old.These case would be excluded whose eyes were be infecting acutely,or foreign body,or having a history of eye surgery before 2 months.The 1893 cases were selected for dry eye questionnaire(OSDI),slit lamp examination,Schirmer(Schirmer test I)test,tear film rupture time(BUT),corneal fluorescein staining(FL).Questionnaires investigations and eye tests were performed by a physician who trained Department of Ophthalmology.Results: A total of 1893 people,1326 people diagnosed with dry eye,the prevalence rate was 70.05%.The average age of the people was 63.32±5.12 years old.Diagnosis of dry eye in 1326 patients,801 women,the incidence rate of 75.49%,525 men,the incidence rate of 63.10%.40-49 age group 91 people,which is suffering from dry eye,41(45.05%),50-59 age group of 317 people,which is suffering from dry eye 182(57.41%),60 to 69 years old group of 843 people,which is suffering from dry eye 619(73.31%),aged 70 to 79 years group 533 people,which is suffering from dry eye 403(75.6%),equal to or above 80 years old group of 109 people,which is suffering from dry eye 81(74.31%).With diabetes,227 people,including 175 people suffering from dry eye(77.09%);with hypertension,511 people,including347 people suffering from dry eye(67.91%).Conclusion: The prevalence rate of dry eye in senile cataract patients is significantly higher than the previous outpatient services of Ophthalmology.But most of them is the mild dry eye disease.It is related with age,sex,diabetes mellitus,eye disease and history of using eye drops,profession,diet and living habit.
