BackgroundPsoriasis is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease. The etiology and pathogenesis of this disease have not been fully clarified. The main clinical manifestations and pathological results showed epidermal scales, proliferation, and angiogenesis with papillary dermis. According to its clinical characteristics, psoriasis can be divided into four kinds: psoriasis vulgaris and arthropathic psoriasis, pustular psoriasis and erythroderma psoriatic.Matrix metalloproteinase-2 is one of the important members of the matrix metalloproteinase family, is a family member were found earlier, also known as gelatinase / type IV collagenase. its gene is located in human chromosome 16q21, by 12 introns and 13 exon composition and the relative molecular weight of 72 kd.The biological properties of matrix metalloproteinase-2 with degradation of basement membrane and extracellular matrix. By regulating the synthesis and degradation of extracellular matrix, matrix metalloproteinase-2 can indirect effects between cells and between cells and matrix of the information transfer process, and is involved in the regulation of cell growth, differentiation, migration, tissue repair and remodeling processes. In recent years, a number of studies have showed that the matrix metalloproteinases-2 and the incidence of psoriasis have a certain relevance, but failed to comprehensive analysis of the link between them. ObjectiveThe experimental study of matrix metalloproteinase-2 and psoriasis related collection, by meta analysis system evaluation method of vulgaris psoriasis patients serum matrix metalloproteinase-2 levels and correlation of the occurrence and development of and psoriasis vulgaris research of etiology and treatment provided for reference. Methods1 Through MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, Chinese biomedical literature database(CBM), China journal full text database(CNKI), Wan Fangshuobo dissertation full text database, VIP Chinese science and Technology Periodical Full-text Database(VIP) to understand the related research.2 From nearly more than ten years of research at home and abroad to select the literature, according to the random allocation method, the hidden and blind method of random selection evaluation included in the research treatment.3 Retrieval research by 2 researchers independently extracted data, and the retrieval of the literature were screened one by one, into the quantitative detection of psoriasis vulgaris serum MMP-2 content of the study, at the same time to evaluate the quality of the included studies.4 Application of meta synthetic quantitative analysis, first of all on included studies were for heterogeneity test, using the ?2 test, inspection standards for ? =0. 10, the I2 and quantitative analysis of size heterogeneity, the test level is set to 50%. If P >0. 1 and I2<50%, the results of the study were not statistically different. If P <0.1 and I2>50%, then the results of the study were statistically different. Of no statistical heterogeneity research results can use fixed effect model of meta analysis was performed of the included studies. On the contrary, the heterogeneity of results is required of included studies meta analysis was performed using a random effects model. ResultsA total of 240 patients with psoriasis vulgaris and 136 healthy controls were included in the study. Application of Rev Man5.3 software for the Meta analysis of the included studies showed that:1 The level of MMP-2 in serum of patients with psoriasis vulgaris was significantly higher than that of MMP-2 in the control group(MD = 135.27, 95%CI 108.46-162.09).2 The level of MMP-2 in the serum of patients with progressive psoriasis vulgaris were significantly higher than those in the normal control group(MD = 191.77, 95%CI 154.98-228.55).3 The level of MMP-2 in the serum of patients with static psoriasis vulgaris was significantly higher than that of the normal control group(MD = 72.17, 95%CI 59.24-85.09).4 There was a difference in the serum levels of MMP-2 in patients with progressive psoriasis vulgaris and static psoriasis vulgaris(MD = 92.58, 95%CI 78.16-107.00), p<0.001, and the results were statistically significant. Conclusion1 The level of MMP-2 in serum of patients with psoriasis vulgaris was significantly higher than that of the normal control group, which showed that the elevation of serum MMP-2 level may be one of the reasons for the pathogenesis of psoriasis.2 The level of MMP-2 in serum of patients with progressive psoriasis was significantly higher than that in static psoriasis, which showed that the level of serum MMP-2 was significantly correlated with the degree of development of psoriasis vulgaris.3 Because of lacking the value of MMP-2 in the patients with degenerative psoriasis, more high quality experiments were needed to confirmed the correlation between serum MMP-2 levels and the degree of development of psoriasis vulgaris.
