BackgroundSoft tissue sarcoma, tumors of putative mesenchymal and its mixed growth ectoderm nerve tissue malignancies origin. It could occur at any age and any place.Sarcomas were uncommon, but are quite deadly, especially soft tissue sarcomas. The crucial reason for this is due to delayed diagnosis and advanced disease,or metastasis, Early stage sarcomas lack obvious symptoms that we could find it as early as possible. sarcomas also occur more frequently in young adults and adolescents compared to other cancers. Thus, despite lower incidence rates, the years of life lost can often be substantial. These facts present adequate evidence that strategies to prevent sarcoma occurrence would prove to be beneficial. However, little scientific knowledge and consensus pertaining to the cause of sarcomas exists. Due to soft tissue sarcoma patients prone to recurrence and metastasis, and in order to improve the patients survival period, scholars looking for reliable prognostic factors, comprehensive evaluation of patients situation, realize individualized treatment. Objectives Comprehensive analysis and evaluation of soft tissue sarcoma clinical pathologic factors including the clinical pathological characteristics, treatment and survival data.Accurate and scientific reflection clinical prognostic factors of malignant biological behavior of soft tissue sarcoma, And evaluate treatment method, and provide theoretical basis for soft tissue sarcomas individualized treatment.Objects and MethodsPatients with soft tissue sarcoma were selected from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University from Jan.2012 to Jan.2014.All the clinical materials were analyzed retrospectively, which include age, sex, tumor size, tumor location, surgery, radiation therapy,ECOG score, distant metastasis, regional lymph node metastasis, depth of tumor, pathological type, stage and margin.Inclusion criteria as follows: the definite pathological diagnosis, clinical data complete, no other complications, accept no less than 4 times of chemotherapy. And in all cases, by telephone and follow-up until January 2016,76 cases were followed up.With the follow-up cases as research object, analysis of factors affecting the prognosis of soft tissue sarcomas. All the data using statistical software SPSS17.0 analysis, single factor analysis with Kaplan Meier method.Compute the Median survival time(Median survival time, MST), application Log-rank method test,multi-factor analysis using Cox proportional hazards regression model, Kaplan-Meier method to calculate survival rate and survival curve drawing, with P < 0.05 for significant differences.Result Analysze prognostic factors that potentially affect the patients with soft tissue sarcomas including age, sex, tumor size, tumor location, surgery, radiation therapy,ECOG score, distant metastasis, regional lymph node metastasis, depth of tumor, pathologic type, stage and margin.Age,sex, tumor size, surgery, radiation therapy, ECOG score, distant metastasis, regional lymph node metastasis, depth of tumor, stage and margin were significantly correlated with survival by univariate analysis. However,Tumor location and pathologic type was not significantly correlated with prognosis.Multi-factor analysis showed that sex, tumour size, surgical, distant metastasis, ECOG score, stage were significantly correlated with survival P < 0.05). Age,radiotherapy, regional lymph node metastasis, depth of tumor and margin were not significantly correlated with survival(P > 0.05).Conclusion factors including age, sex, tumor size, surgery, radiation therapy, ECOG score, distant metastasis, regional lymph node metastasis, depth of tumor, stage and margin were Closely related to the prognosis of soft tissue sarcoma, these factos were have a strong influence in patients with soft tissue sarcomas.Factors including ECOG score, distant metastasis, stage, sex, tumor size and surgical are independent prognostic factors of adult soft tissue sarcomas by COX multi-factor analysis.
