Research On The Quality Standards Of Zhuang-medicine Ixora Chinensis And Pandanus Tectorius

Objective: Through the research of quality study of Zhuang-medicine Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.the quality standards were established and they could provide references to control the quality of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.Methods:(1)Pharmacognostic studies aspects of transverse section of root or stem,powder characteristics,plant morphology,character identification from Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.;(2)Determined the cotents of water,total ash,acid insoluble ash and extract of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.;(3)Pre-experiment of chemical composition on Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.;(4)Identified Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.by TLC;(5)Determined the contents of scopoletin by HPLC;(6)According to the 2010 edition of Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China,quality standard drafts of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.were established.Result:(1)Pharmacognosy study: Ixora chinensis Lam.: Cylindrical stem with diameter 5~8mm was brown and had opposite leaves,inflorescences terminal.They were thin skin and gray white xylem on the section of stem.A series of phellem collenchyma cells,The formation layer was obvious.The xylem was relatively broad and had a large number of woodfibers.The central pith was broad,and there were a lot of large stone cells.It had paracytic type.Granular starch granule consists of 2~3 single starch granules.Clusters of calcium oxalate and brown substance are common.It was a lot of spiral vessels and pit channel distinct.Pandanus tectorius Soland.:Cylindrical root with diameter 5~8mm was brownish yellow.The skin areas of root are shrunken into prismatic projections.Leaf margin and midvein have sharp spines.Polythalamic fruit was hard and obconic.The skin areas with a large number of fasciculus and large mucus cells was broad.The endodermis was obvious and the vascular bundles in the root was radial.Granular starch grains were round.There were a lot of calcium oxalate crystals and crystal fibers.The main pipe are spiral vessels,scalariform vessel and bordered pit vessel.Paracytic type stomata were visible.Medicine determination: Ixora chinensis Lam.: Researchde 10 different batches of Zhuang medicine Ixora chinensis Lam.made that cotents of water shall not exceed 12.0%,total ash shall not exceed 6.0%,acid insoluble ash shall not exceed 1.5% and extract shall not less than 13.0%.Pandanus tectorius Soland.:Researchde 10 different batches of Zhuang medicine Pandanus tectorius Soland.made that cotents of water shall not exceed 9.6%,total ash shall not exceed 8.0%,acid insoluble ash shall not exceed 2.0% and extract shall not less than 12.5%.(3)Pre-experiment of chemical composition: Ixora chinensis Lam.may be contaminated sugar,polysaccharide,glycosides,saponins,tannins,flavonoids,sterols,triterpenes and coumarin etc.Pandanus tectorius Soland.may be contaminated sugars,polysaccharides,glycosides,organic acids,flavonoids,phenols,coumarin and lactone etc.(4)In the sample chromatography of TLC,there was the same color of spots compared to the reference substance.(5)The highest content was LCH-2=0.06103mg/g.The lowest content was LCH-3=0.04843mg/g.The average Scopoletin acid content was0.055415mg/g.The Scopoletin acid in dry Ixora chinensis Lam.should be higher than 0.044332mg/g(0.0044332%)according to the reduce 20%.Conclusions: It was meaningful to study the transverse section of root or stem,powder characteristics,plant morphology,character identification Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.To qualitative identification of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.by TLC.The results of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.can provide quality control evaluation index.We formulated the draft quality standards refered to Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China.The standards were scientific,feasibility and practicability,and could provid new methods to control the quality of Ixora chinensis Lam.and Pandanus tectorius Soland.
