Objective : The purpose of the clinical study was to explore the short-term effect of using individual nutrition support on gastric cancer with diabetes mellitus patients after operation. Methods:The study was made on the clinical results of 21 cases of individual nutrition support and other 21 eases of traditional nutritional support in our hospital from January 2014 to January 2016.According to the random number table is divided into two groups. The clinical data of 42 cases of gastric cancer with diabetes mellitus patients were treated surgically and pathologically confirmed. The general date of two groups were compared in preoperative, the evaluation index of nutrition on the day before operation, the postoperative first day, third day and seventh day between the two groups were compared, recovery of gastrointestinal function, occurrence of postoperative complications, and the blood glucose fluctuation within 7 days after the operation. Results : The data between the two groups before surgery were comparable(all P>0.05).The evaluation index of nutrition between the two groups on the postoperative first day were not significantly different(all P>0.05).The difference in the index of albumin, hemoglobin, total lymphocyte count between the two groups did not reach a statistical significance on the postoperative first day, third day(all P>0.05),but the evaluation index of nutrition in the individual nutrition support group were all better than those in the traditional nutritional support group. On the postoperative third day, seventh day,the difference in the BMI between the two groups did not reach a statistical significance(all P>0.05),but the BMI in the individual nutrition support group was significantly superior to the traditional nutritional support group. The evaluation index of nutrition in the individual nutrition support group were better than those in the traditional nutritional support group on the postoperative seventh day and reach significant difference(all P<0.05).The time of flatus, bowel movement and of hospital stay after operation in the individual nutrition support group were significantly shorter than those in the traditional nutritional group, and reach significant difference(all P<0.05).Post-procedure complications occurred 5 cases in the individual nutrition support group, and in 12 cases in the traditional nutritional support group,so the difference in the complication incidence rate between the two groups reach a statistical significance(x2=4.84,P= 0.03),and the incidence of complication in the individual nutrition support group were significantly lower than the traditional nutritional group.Blood glucose fluctuations in the individual nutrition support group were significantly lower than the individual nutrition support group in postoperative days(all P<0.05).Conclusion: 1.The individual nutrition support can improve the nutrition status on postoperative patients with gastric cancer.2.The individual nutrition support can promote the recovery of gastrointestinal function after surgery.3.The individual nutrition support can improve the immunity of postoperative patients.4.The individual nutrition support can reduce the incidence of postoperative complications.5.The individual nutrition support can reduce the hospital stay of patients.6.The individual nutrition support is a better method and more convenient to control blood glucose.7.The individual nutrition support is an effective measure for gastric cancer with diabetes mellitus patients to promote rapid recovery after surgery, and the short-term effect is better than the traditional nutritional support.it is worthy of popularization and application.
