Objective: To providing a theoretical basis for scientific and rational application of Moringa oleifera, microscopic identification of stems, leaves and petioles of the plant and chemical research of 95% ethanol extract of the whole plant were carried out herein.Methods: 1. Observed and described the microstructural features of leaf, petiole and stem of Moringa oleifera Lam. by using microscopic identification method.2.The chemical constituents were isolated and purified by various column chromatographies. The structures of isolates were identified by combination of spectroscopic methods(MS, 1H, 13 C NMR) and chemical methods.Results: 1. In this study, descripted the microscopic characteristics of leaf, petiol e and stem of Moringa oleifera Lam. They have characteristics of tropical dicots:Leaves skin has unique style row pores, developed vascular bundles, rich chlor oplasts; Petioles and stems have similar structure.variety catheter showed a strong function of transporting. Collenchyma developed and pith larger, which spread a large number of crystals and starch grains. 2.Chemical investigation of the stem s and leaves of Moringa oleifera Lam. led to the isolation of 12 compounds, incl uding(Polyprenol)(1),(Phytol)(2),(?-Sitosterol)(3),(Bis(2-ethylheptyl) phthalat e)(4),(Bis(2-ethyloctyl) phthalate)(5),(?-daucosterol)(6),(Vomifoliol)(7),(N-(2-pheny-lethyl)acetamide)(8),(3,4-cis-3,4-dihydroxy-?-ionone)(9),4-[4?-O-acetyl-?-L-rhamnosy loxy]benzyl]isothiocyanate(10),(1-Linolenoylglycerol)(11), Acetic acid 4,5-dihydroxy-2-methyl-6-{4-[(3,7,11,15-tetramethyl-hexadec-2-enyloxycarbon-ylamino)-methyl]-phenoxy}-tetrahydro-pyran-3-ylester(12).Conclusion:1. The results of this experiment for the identification of the plant has important significance in terms of pharmacognosy,which provid a theoretical basis for the identification of microscopic characteristics of Moringa oleifera Lam.2. Chemical investigation of the stems and leaves of Moringa oleifera Lam. led to the isolation of 12 compounds, and this is the first time to report compounds 2?7?9?12from Moringa oleifera Lam,and the compound 12 is a new compound. The species of these compounds is inconspicuous, and the mechanism between the active ingredient needs further study.
