Objective:To explore the serum levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), analyze the relationship between MMP-9 and TLR4, and discuss their diagnostic and prognostic values.Methods:A total of 49 cases were involved,of which 34 were NSCLC patients (15 cases of NSCLC were have migrate to bone^ brain or liver, the left are not),15 case were healthy controls. The serum levels of MMP-9 and TLR4 were determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)Results:1、The serum levels of MMP-9 and TLR4 were found significantly higher in NSCLC group than those healthy controls (MMP-9,P=0.015;TLR4,P=0.009)2、The levels of MMP-9 and TLR4 in the NSCLC group with stage III and IV were higher than those with stage Ⅰ and Ⅱ (MMP-9,P=0.043; TLR4,P=0.005)3、The serum levels of MMP-9 and TLR4 in patients with organ metastasize was higher than not.4、Linear regression was used to analyze the correlation between MMP-9 and TLR4 of patients with NSCLC (R=0.939,P<0.001)5、A receiver operating characteristic curve analysis showed that both MMP-9 and TLR4 have diagnostic value of NSCLC.Conclusion:1、Compare the patients with NSCLC to the control group, the serum levels of MMP-9、TLR-4 are significantly up-regulation.2、In NSCLC, patients with organ metastatic have higher serum levels of MMP-9 and TLR-4 than not, the same result can find in between stage Ⅲ/Ⅳ and Ⅰ/Ⅱ.3、A positive correlation was observed between the serum levels of MMP-9 and TLR4.
