Medical research shows that the content of trace elements is closely related to human health.Therefore, the accurate measurement of trace elements has significant implications for the diagnosis of disease and maintenance of human health.The main difficulty in the detection of trace elements for human body fluids is that the concentration of elements is extreme low,even to the trace level.Moreover,the complex matrix will introduce the interference to the detection.Thus, how to quickly,accurately and simultaneously determinate multi-element determination is a serious problem.As an analytical method, ICP-MS has some advantages which are the simultaneous determination of a multi-element, wide linear range, high precision, good accuracy and low detection limit.However,when trace elements with complex matrix were analyzed,the mass spectrometry peak of polyatomic ions and other components would overlap with the measured ions peak.And this circumstances would interfere with the measurement of the elements.In order to solve the interference problem which is coming from the polyatomic ions during the process of measurement,the working principle of the collision cell was studied. In addition, the ion focusing properties of the collision cell reaction and optimization of kinetic energy thresholds with the collision mode under conditions of low vacuum were simulated by using the ion optics simulation software SIMION 8.1.The ion- molecule reaction mechanism which is of collision reaction cell has been studied and the removing interference effect of several reaction gas was discussed from the perspective of the reaction mechanism during the measurements with complex matrices(human serum) using ICP-MS. A practical, efficient and simple pre-treatment technology for clinical blood samples: direct injection dilution method was established.Analysing various disturbances which exists in the process of determination, the inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer(ICP-MS) with collision/reaction cell method for determination of 13 trace elements in human serum by using the direct injection dilution method as pre-treatment technology was established. This method with characteristics of simple, rapid processing, low limits of detection and well precision could be as a clinical method for detecting trace elements in human serum.Finally,reference values of 13 elements of adults(n=100) in blood serum were given.
