The Situation And Factors In Perception Of Caring Behaviour Between Nurses And Patients In A Hospital Of Dezhou

Objective The study aimed to investigate the situation in perception of caring behaviour between nurses and patients in a hospital of Dezhou,to analysis the perceptions of caring behaviour between nurses and patients in different or not.To explore the factors in perception of caring behaviour between nurses and patients,to refer for improving the level of nurses and patients in perception of caring behaviour and reducing perceived difference.Methods The research used by convenience sampling in a cross-section study,a total of 227 nurses and 320 patients in a hospital of Dezhou were investigated with questionnaire investigation,the questionnaire contained the general data and Caring Behaviour Inventory(CBI).The data were analyzed with SPSS17.0,the general information and the result of CBI was described by percentage,mean and standard deviation;The measurement data was described by t-test,AVOVA and LSD;The factors analysed used multiple linear regression.Results 1?The situation in perception of caring behaviour between nurses and patients in a hospital of Dezhou:The nurses' scores on the CBI were 4.97±0.49.The patients' scores on the CBI were 4.80±0.90.The Nurses' scores were higher than patients' score on the CBI,“Assurance” and “Respectful” dimensions.But the difference were not statistically significant between nurses' scores and patients' scores in “Knowledge and skill” and “Connectedness” dimensions.2?The situation in perception of caring behaviour between nurses and patients in a hospital of Dezhou:(1)The nurses' scores on the CBI in different gender,age,education,working years,technical title,with or without child with statistical difference;To use the multiple linear regression to find the working years and education were correlated with the scores on the CBI by the nurses.(2)The patients' scores on the CBI in different gender,age,education,the type of admission(emergency admission or planned admission),the history of admission(first admission or no-first admission)with statistical difference;To use the multiple linear regression to find age,type of admission and the history of admission were correlated with the scores on the CBI by the patients.Conclusions1?The perceptions of caring behaviour between nurses and patients in a hospital of Dezhou are all positive estimate,but the scores are lower than the Papastsvour's result.Nurses' sel-perception who in a hospital of Dezhou of caring behaviour is mismatched with patients' perception in “Assurance” and “Respectful” dimensions,and the level of perceived caring of patients is lower than the nurses'.2?The main factors in perceptions of caring behaviour in nurses are working years and education,then the nurses with longer working years and higher education are in high perception.The main factors in perceptions of caring behaviour in patients are age,the type of admission and the history of admission,then the patients with older,planned admission and no-first admission are in high perception.3?To suggest increase the number of nurses and train the nurses with caring related courses,the aim is to make the method of implementation of caring from nurses be better and impove the lever of perception in caring behaviour in nurses and patients.
