Objective: Aim To observe the effect of jiaweishengmaibuxindan on the FPG and myocardial structure in type 2 diabetes rats and the therapeutic effect on myocardial fibrosis and hypertrophy. Methods: 40 SD rats were randomly divided into 2 parts,7 rats in normal group and 33 rats in experimental group. The diabetes model was established by feeding the animals with high-fat and high-sucrose diet and injecting 2 times small dose of STZ. The 33 SD rats were randomly divided into model group,RGS group and BXD group after establishing the models. The rats in each group are given the corresponding drug treatment once daily for 8 weeks. After 8 weeks, rats were measured FPG and excuted for heart sample. Results: The FPG of experimental group is higher than normal group(p<0.05) at the completion of therapy. The FPG of RGS group and BXD group is higher than model group(p<0.05).The FPG of RGS group is lower than BXD group(p<0.05). The myocardial structure of model group was severely damaged and collagen fiber content increased obviously. The damage of the myocardial structure was slighter and the content of collagen was lower in RGS group and BXD group. Compared with the model group, the expression level of collegen I/III and SIRT3 are decreased significantly(p<0.05) in the other groups. Compared with the normal group, the expression level of collegen III is increased significantly(p<0.05) in the BXD group. Compared with the BXD group, the expression level of Sirt3 is increased significantly(p<0.05) in the RGS group. Conclusion: Jiaweishengmaibuxindan decreased the level of blood sugar in type 2 diabetes rats significantly. And it alleviates the degree of myocardial fibrosis and hypertrophy, also delays the progression of diabetic cardiomyopathy.
