Objective:To understand the status of sleep problems and influence factors in outpatients aged 0-15 years, in order to provide the basis for related intervention measures.Method:Totally 235 children were selected from child care outpatient of Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University,whose parents were interviewed from March 2013 to March 2014.The questionnaire which was used in this study combined the "Chinese version of Children's sleep habits questionnaires" with the "clinical questionnaires of sleep center of Children's Hospital in Sydney". One person who was the medical staff was responsible for a questionnaire from one child.Results:Each group of average sleep time every day is 13.7?11.95? 12.06?11.62?11.82?10.88?11.00? 9.83 and 9.81 hours. The mean total sleep times in 24 hours in 4-7 months age group and 5-6 years age group children is shorter than the typical sleep time of children at the same aged group recommended by National sleep foundation. Sleep time in 24 hours in diffrent aged groups and gendered groups is different remarkly. The total prevalence rate of sleep problems is 43.56%. Prevalence rate of sleep problems is 50.86% for boys and is 33.72% for girls. Different gender was statistically difference between sleep problems. Among their symptoms of sleep problems, sleep longer time in daytime and less in the night is 5.94%, enuresis in nighttime is 4.46%, molar teeth is 4.46%, hyperhidrosis is 26.73%, mouth breathing is 7.92%, sleep apnea is 0.5%, night talking is 1.98%, sleep snoring is 9.9%, gargling is 2.48%, night awakenings (13.86%), screeching or crying (7.43%), limber spasm(4.95%). Different gender and ages were statistically difference between sleep problems.There is only factor, children's living place,which one is the main factor affecting sleep.Conclusions:The total sleep time in 24 hours of subjects is decreased during aged order and shorter than the standard of "National sleep foundation". Prevalence rate of sleep problems in this study is 43.56%. It is higher than other investigations in China. So the children's parents, and the pediatrians, and the child health care staff should concerned about kids' sleep problems. It was showed that sleep intervention in kids remains inadequate and changes are necessary.
