| Objective: The purpose of this topic is to investigate the relationship between emotional behavior problems and sleep problems in children with ADHD.Methods: Totally 72 parents of children with ADHD and 72 parents of healthy children were investigated by Children ’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire(CSHQ)and the Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire(SDQ).Compare the differences in emotional behavior problems and sleep problems between the ADHD and the normal control group.Meanwhile doing the correlation analyses.Result: 1.The incidence of Total Sleep Problem in the ADHD group was significantly higher than those of control group(P<0.05).2.The CSHQ scores of Total Sleep Problem,Bedtime Resistance,sleep Anxiety,Parasomnias,Sleep Disordered Breathing,Daytime Sleepiness in the ADHD group was significantly higher than those of control group(P < 0.01).3.The SDQ scores of Emotional Symptoms Score,Conduct Problems score,Peer Problems score,Hyperactivity score and Total Deviance/ Diffic ulties score in the ADHD group was significantly higher than those of control group,and Prosocial Behavior Score was lower in ADHD group(P < 0.01).4.(1)The CSHQ scores of Total Sleep Problem was positively correlated with the SDQ scores of Total Deviance/Difficulties score,Emotional Symptoms Score,Conduct Problems Score and Hyperactivity score(P < 0.05);(2)The SDQ scores of Hyperactivity was positively correlated with the CSHQ scores of Bedtime Resistance,Sleep Anxiety,Parasomnias and Daytime Sleepiness in the ADHD group(P <0.01);(3)The SDQ scores of Emotional Symptoms was positively correlated with the CSHQ scores of Bedtime Resistance,Sleep Anxiety,Night Wakings,Parasomnias and Daytime Sleepiness in the ADHD group(P < 0.05)(4)The the SDQ scores of Prosocial Behavior was positively correlated with the Bedtime Resistance,Sleep Anxiety in the ADHD group(P< 0.01).Conclusion: 1.Sleep problems were common in children with ADHD.2.Emotional behavior problems were common in children with ADHD.3.Sleep problems were significantly correlated with Emotional behavior problems. |
