Objective:To explore the clinical effect of the distal humerus wedge osteotomy for the treatment of cubitus varus in childrenMethods:40 cases of children's cubitus varus in our hospital from January 2008 to December 2010 were retrospectively analyzed.all of the patients accepted treatment of the distal humerus wedge osteotomy combined Kirschner wire. Among them, there were male 30 cases, female 10 cases and 25 cases on the left side,15 cases on the right side. Their age ranged from 3 years 6 months to 15 years 2 months, and the average age was 8 year 6 months old. Postoperative follow-up of 4-6.5 years, an average of five years.Results:According to evaluation of the classification made by Su Shangqing, excellent in 36 cases (90%), good in 3 cases (7.5%), general in 1 cases (2.5%), and the rate of excellent and good was 97.5%.Conclusions:The surgical method of distal humerus wedge osteotomy combined Kirschner wire fixation is a reliable and effective method to treat elbow varus deformity in children, and it is worthy of reference and promotion for clinical.
