The effectiveness of the Gua Sha technique, a treatment modality in Traditional Chinese Medicine, in stimulating acupuncture points for pain relief is examined in this paper. Gua Sha increases the body temperature to accelerate the circulation of the blood. In addition, Gua Sha causes vascular rupture, some red cans spots can exist. At present, no scholars use a numerical analysis method for Gua Sha. This paper examine these from a biomechanical perspective. This paper mainly simulates the skin temperature, stess and deformation, and blood flow, and vascular rupture on the basis of finite elment theory, heat transfer and fluid mechnics, at the same time, explores the physical of this complex process. The detailed contents are as follows:In order to obtain the skin and blood vessels temperature, the physical mechanism of Gua Sha is further studied and the reasonable models of skin are built based on the biomechanical and the bioheat transfer theory. This paper firstly propose that skin will be divided into three or four layers, and each layer of skin is assumed to be nonlinearly elastic or linearly elastic. By means of the results of the ABAQUS software, the modesl are simulated to slove the skin and blood vessels temperature. The simulation of heat exchange with the environment is also considered. Make the results compare with the existing experimental results, verify the effectiveness of the numerical simulation method, and provide the heoretical basis for treatment of Gua Sha.In order to nondestructively slove the temperature, pressure and stress of the blood vessels, this paper builds the reasonable models of blood vessels based on the temperature changes of the blood vessels. The temperature, pressure and stress of the the blood vessels are obtained by means of the ANSYS Workbench software. The relationships of the vascular rupture and the different blood sizes and the initial blood velocity are also studied. The simulation results show that Gua Sha can increase the circulation of the blood. In the condition of different blood sizes and the different initial blood velocity, blood vesses are ruptured in Gua Sha process.
