Cupping is a Chinese traditional method for health care, which can eliminate moistureand promote blood circulation. Chinese medicine practitioners often diagnose diseaseaccording to some spots and moisture in tank after cupping. After cupping, there is somemoisture in tank, and it can be seen some blisters for some people who have bad moisturein the body. In addition, some red cans spots can exist. Modern medicine believes thatsuction pulling force due to negative pressure can suck out the moisture in body, and causecapillary rupture. This paper arms to simulate the moisture diffusion and vascular ruptureon the basis of the theory of finite element, and explore the physical mechanism of thiscomplex process. The following aspects are included, such as the theoretical basis of moisture diffusionduring cupping, the simulation of the moisture diffusion under negative pressure andtemperature, the simulation of the process of capillary rupture.Firstly, the moisture diffusion theory and stress assisted diffusion theory have beenintroduced briefly. Fick diffusion law is applied to the general diffusion of concentrationdifference. However, cupping vacuum is the dominant factor for diffusion during cupping,it is necessary to introduce stress assisted diffusion theory.Secondly, we must build two-dimensional cross-sectional model of skin tissue in theABAQUS software. Negative and temperature are considered respectively, and the wholeprocess of moisture diffusion can be simulated. Besides, the simulation results arecompared with traditional Chinese medicine theory, and can explain some phenomena, suchas moisture, blisters. At last, the mechanical model of capillaries is built in the ABAQUS software tosimulate the rupture process under negative pressure. Some parameters of the artery areused for reference, and the failure criterion is given to analyze the rule of capillary ruptureduring cupping.
