The liquid sloshing is a common and quite important issue in the fields of agricultural production,aerospace,oiltank transportation and other engineering area.When stimulated by the outside world,the liquid surface in the systems filling liquid constituted by tank and its corresponding liquid can generate relative motion as well as producing sloshing force and overturning moment,which can act on tanks and influence mechanical properties and stability of liquid-filled system.Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the characteristics of liquid sloshing,explore the sloshing disciplines,and further apply those basic rules into the practical applications.The present work utilized rectangular tank,which is widely used in plant protection machinery,as a researching object.The mechanical properties of liquid sloshing in liquid-filled system were mainly focused via experimental methods under the stimulating of outside world.This work utilized experimental platform to add horizontal sine displacement excitation on tank and liquid in the tank,and then this work utilized force sensor and data acquisition system to gather sloshing force from horizontal direction and overturning moment of rectangular tank in different liquid depths,different excitation frequency and different excitation amplitude.Finally,this graduation thesis work makes comparisons between theoretical and experimental values.The experimental results demonstrated that:(1)Both for lateral force and overturning moment can gradually increase with the excitation frequency increasing and reached their extreme point values at the vicinity of the first-order inherent frequency,meaning while generate resonance.After that,both for lateral force and overturning moment gradually decreasing and the free liquid surface tends to be gentle with the frequency increasing.(2)The maximal values of lateral force and overturning moment of liquid sloshing without dimension can gradually increase with the liquid depth increasing,then the maximal values can gradually decrease;(3)Lateral force and overturning moment of liquid sloshing without dimension can gradually decrease companying with the increasing of excitation amplitude,especially behave more obvious at inherent frequency;(4)The length of tank has impact on experimental results.The larger length a tank has,the closer to two-dimensional motion for liquid in a tank.For the rectangular tank with L equal to 250 mm,500mm,the frequency corresponded by lateral force and overturning moment constantly decrease with the excitation amplitude increasing.However,for the rectangular tank with L equal to 750 mm,the frequency corresponded by liquid maximal value of lateral force and overturning moment maintains constantly.
