The study was conducted to determine the effects of Chinese herbal formula Qu Zhi San as dietary additives on growth performance and immunity indexes, and its mechanism in piglets in order to open up a high-effect and green feed additive for weaned piglets.A total of 48 piglets weaned at 21 days of age were randomly assigned to 4 treatment groups fed with basal diet, basal diet+1% Chinese herbal formula, basal diet+3% Chinese herbal formula and basal diet+6% Chinese herbal formula, respectively.(n= 12 per group).1.The effect of Chinese herbal formula Qu Zhi San on the growth and absorbing ability of piglet.Statistics of average daily feed intake and average daily weight gain of each piglet. The ratio of material to weight was calculated. The main digestive enzyme activity and the length and depth of the piglets were examined. The results showed that the average daily feed intake and average daily weight gain were significantly higher in the middle dose group than in the control group(P <0.05).The ratio of the weight ratio of the piglets was significantly lower than that of the control group(P <0.05).The activity of pepsin, sucrase and maltase in the middle dose group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P <0.05).At the same time, the Chinese herbal formula could increase the length and depth of ileal villus, improve the digestion and absorption ability of piglets,so as to production performance.2.The effect of Chinese herbal formula Qu Zhi San on the blood and chemical indexes of piglet and the organs of the main organs. The different groups piglets feeding with adding different doses of formula, detection of piglet routine blood, blood biochemical indexes and observe the tissue section. The results showed that compared with the control group, the number of white blood cells in the middle dose groups was significantly higher than that in the control group(P <0.05),which was beneficial to the survival of the piglets. The blood routine and blood biochemical indexes of each group were all within the normal range, and no significant lesion was observed in the main tissue of the piglets.Therefore,1% ~ 6% of the formula had no toxic effect on the piglets.3.The effect of Chinese herbal formula on the antioxidant and partial immune indexes of piglet. The activities of SOD,GSH-Px and MDA in the serum and ileal homogenate of the piglets were significantly higher than those in the control group(P <0.05).The levels of IgG and serum lysozyme in the serum and ileal homogenate of the piglets were significantly higher than those of the control group(P <0.05).The levels of IgG and serum in the piglets were significantly higher than those in the control group(P <0.05),so 3% of the formula can significantly enhance the immunity of piglets. At the same time, the result of ileum immune cytokine mRNA and peripheral blood T lymphocyte subgroup test show that formula can improve the IL-2,TGF-beta content, improve piglet CD3 +,CD4 + and CD3 +CD8 + T lymphocyte percentage and CD3 + CD4 + / CD3 + CD8 + ratio, thereby enhancing the piglet immune balance.
