Study Of Cultivation And Adaptability Of Introduced The Campanula Plants

The Campanula plants are perennial herbs with high ornamental value.The flowers are bell-shaped and the colour is peaceful.The Campanula plants,as a newly-developed ornamental flower,is becoming more and more popular,but the research in China nowadays is reletively lacking.This paper,based on the understanding of the investigation of Campanula in North China,studied on seed germnation characteristics,shade tolerance and heat tolerance of different species of Campanula.The research results are as follow:1.It showed that the herbs have a wild adaptability in Beijing,by observing the characteristics and morphological characteristics of the bellflowers.The results showed the Campanula plants sprout from late march to early April;flowering period was from April to June;In December leaves began to turn yellow.2.By studying the characteristics of germination of Campanula plants,it showed that suitable temperature for the seeds of Campanula punctata and C.patula was 15 ?-30 ?,suitable temperature for the seeds of C.trachelium and C.medium was 25 ?,C.thyrsoides' s suitable temperature was 15?-25?,and germination rate was significantly higher in light conditions than in the dark conditions.3.In order to get a evaluation of shade tolerance capability,the study takes six campanula plants as experimental subjects and analyzes their morphological index(length,widthof leaves,height of plants),chlorophyll content of blades and photosynthetic characters from theperspective of different shade process(90%,75%,50%,0% shade degree).The plants have higher ornamentalvalue and better plant morphology under the shade degrees of 50% and75%.the herbs have lower light compensation point(under 50?molm-2s-1)and higher light saturation point(above 800?molm-2s-1).so that,the campanula plants are positive plants to light,with certain shading resistance.Among the tested plants,the adaptability of shadow resistance are showed as follow,C.trachelium,C.glomerata.C.medium,C.patula,C.punctata,C.thyrsoides.4.Heat tolerance of campanula plants was measured by clectrolyte leaskage.Based on the curve of the Logistic equation,the sequence of the heat-tolerance of campanula plants was showed in oder from strong to weak,C.thyrsoides,C.medium,C.punctata,C.trachelium,C.patula,Campanula glomerata subsp.cephalotes),which was identified as the semi-lethal temperature of Campanula plants,60.43?,57.46?,56.55?,55.80?,54.69?and 53.83?.In short,this paper studied the germination characteristics and cultivation adaptability of Campanula seeds,and the resuilt can provide a reference for the study on cultivation and applacation in the future.
