In this study,seven varieties of six-years old of Feijoa cutting plant were used as test materials to explore the growth characteristics,flowering characteristics,fruiting characteristics and yield component factors of different Feijoa varieties under regular cultivation condition.Compared the cultivation characteristics and production component factors of different varieties of Feijoa to find out the high yield and high quality varieties in Mian Yang,SiChuan.In order to provide a theoretical basisfor choose and formulate corresponding technical solutions for high yield and commercial cultivarsof Feijoaand market Feijoa.The result show that:(1)When the cultivation of ecological environment and management conditions are basically the same,the differences of genetic factors and physiological factors of different varieties of Feijoa were the mainly reasone that caused the different growth characteristics.The crown volume,stem diameter,plant height and stem height of Unique had a high level in all varieties.The leaf index of Unique up to 1.871,medium shoot and long shoot occupied the highest proportion of 74.62%,long fruit shoot proportion was 51.28%,and the thickness of the green leaf layer was significantly higher than that other five varieties except Triumph and the tree form of Unique and Triumph were hanging type.Thus the leaf of Unique and Triumph were vertical distribution and the leaf area for photosynthesis was bigger,the canopy for fruiting was more reasonable.All the growth characteristics were more beneficial to promote the quality of Feijoa and were more potential for high yield.(2)The initial time of flowering of seven varieties were different,but all mainly focus on the end of April to the early in May,The duration of flowering was between 35-39 days and the full-bloom stage was between 14-17 days.There was a difference in inflorescence numbers of per plant of different varities and were also greater differences in flower numbers of per plant.The inflorescence number of per plant,single flowering and flower numbers of per plant were between 39-58,9-26,408-986,respecti-vely.The flowering time and flower numbers of the upper and middle,the east and west of the canopy were earlier and more than the lower,the south and north.The flower numbers of Unique was 986 and the single flowering was 17,the flower numbers of Triumph was 831,which is significantly higher than that of the other varieties.(3)The fruit of Feijoa distributed on the upper,middle.And the fruit of individual varietie concentrated in a certain layer or a certain direction.The highest fruit rate is Unique,up to 60.91%,the lagrest number of fruit reaching to 489,the per plant yield up to 7894.34g.Triumph took second place,it's per plant yield up to 6733g and single fruit weight reached 25.44g.And the lowest per plant yield is Mammoth,only about 4498.78g.the difference was significant.The per plant yield of other five varieties were between 4904.74g-6733.20g,and there were no significantly differences between different varieties.All the fruit set rate of different varieties were more than 20%,which could meet the production needs of fruit.Furthermore,the edible rate,the soluble solids content and soluble total sugar content of Unique and Triumph had a high level among all varieties,also the titratable acid content was low,the fruit size was uniform,and the skin was smooth,the peel was green inside deeply yellow,which were the better varieties.(4)Studied the component factors of different varieties of Feijoa yield by Correlation Analysis and Principal Component Analysis,the result showed that a certain shapes of Feijoa had reached a significant or very significant level.Principal Component Analysis showed that the contribution rate of flower numbers per plant,stem height,number of single flowering and leaf index were 33.55%,22.85%,20.76%and 14.79%,respectively,and the cumulative contribution rate was about 91.95%.According to the results of Principal Component Analysis,the extent of a number of indicators can be summed up in most of the information to evaluate the different varieties of Feijoa by 4 principal components.In this study,Unique and Triumph were selected as the high yield potential and good fruit quality varieties of Feijoa in Mianyang area.
