In order to find the relationship between steps of cows and their physical health on different stages of production under the special weather conditions in Xinjiang, and then provide the theoretical and practical basis for cow healthy breeding and disease prevention, helping dairy farming production enterprises to improve the level of farming and economic benefits, the experiment takes 1,280 Holstein cows in Tianrun Wuyi Farm, which were in period of lactation peak, late pregnancy, adaptation period, lactation period and hoof disease, as the research objects Yuri cow pedometer and Afaifarm 3.04 software management system were installed to record the step number in different stages of production from cow cluster management, TMR feeding monitoring system, automatic feeding, breeding cows, breeding, health records, identification of estrus, parity, milk yield and disease prevention treatment, to analyze the relationship between the step number and the physical health in different stages. Results:the number of oestrus with the pedometer monitoring was significantly higher than that of artificial observation (P<0.01). The number of differences between the 5 steps of pregnant cows in May, June, July, August and September was dramatic. The implementation of nutritional intake and step number of pregnant cows in different stages in the control experiments showed that the incidence rate of obstetric diseases in the experimental group decreased by 52.5%, the rate of dystocia decreased by 17.5%, and 60-day postpartum estrus rate increased by 30%. The differences between step number of cows in estrus and dioestrus in different seasons were significantly high (P<0.01). In different seasons, the differences between the number of oestrus of cows in different period of daily time was high (P<0.05), the hoof disease of cows showed different trends, and difference between step number of different hoof diseases was high (P<0.01). Using different preventive measures in different seasons, the incidence rate of hoof disease decreased by 27.45%, the cure rate increased by 19.59%. In the four seasons, the number of steps of lactating cow in autumn and winter was significantly higher than that in spring and summer (P < 0.01), the milk yield in spring was significantly higher than that in summer, autumn and winter (P< 0.01). The experiments, which took certain measure to improve environmental conditions and feeding mode to control cow activity, showed that the daily output of each lactating cow increased 2.15 kg.Conclusions:oestrus of cows using pedometers in the lactation period was better than that of artificial observation, which can improve the detection rate of estrous cows. The implementation of step number control in pregnant cows can control the degree of fatness, reduce the incidence of obstetric diseases and dystocia, increase milk output and 60-day postpartum estrus rate. There are certain rules in the relationship between number of steps and heads of estrous cows in different seasons and different time periods. Seasonal oestrus proportion in spring and autumn was higher than in summer and winter. The number of steps in estrus was higher than that in diestrus. The number of steps in autumn was higher than that in spring, summer and winter. The number of estrous cows was different in different time period every day. Arranging estrus observation according to the estrus laws can increase the detection rate of estrus. There is a correlation between the step number and the hoof diseases which were seasonal variation. The step number can effectively monitor hoof diseases of cows to improve the cure rate by early detection and early treatment. There is some relevance between the step number and lactation performance. In the condition of step number in spring, the milk output was the highest. Taking different measures to improve the environment and the way to regulate the cow activity can increase the milk output of cows. The step number recorded by pedometers can reflect the physical health of cows in different production stages. The physical health and productivity of cows can be increased by control of step numbers.
