As one of the world’s largest ecosystem, the ecological benefit assessment of forest ecosystems are increasingly aroused people’s concern. In particular, with the development of economy and society and the shortage of water resources, people began to seriously study the urban water sources upstream of the forest ecosystem quantification services evaluation. In this study, we estimated the ecological benefits of the Upper stream of Huangqian Reservoir from water conservation, soil conservation, forest nutrient accumulation of material, oxygen carbon sequestration, biodiversity conservation, air purification environmental and forest protection. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The total value of the Upper stream of Huangqian Reservoir forest ecosystem was14.108 million yuan. The value of water conservation was 82.05 million yuan, the value of soil conservation was 14.11 million yuan, the value of oxygen carbon sequestration was 32.07 million yuan, the value of forest nutrient accumulation of material was 1.42 million yuan, the value of biodiversity conservation was 13.54 million yuan, the value of air purification environmental was 2.61 million yuan, the value of forest protection was 2.21 million yuan.(2)The major ecological benefit was the value of water conservation, the value of oxygen carbon sequestration and the value of soil conservation. The order of the ecological benefit assessment of forest ecosystems was water conservation> oxygen carbon sequestration> soil conservation> biodiversity conservation> air purification environmental> forest conservation > forest nutrient accumulation of material.(3) The largest ecological benefits was Pinewood forest and Oak forest forest. They were the major planted tree and have an important position in the Upper stream of Huangqian Reservoir. The ecological benefits order of different forest types was : Platycladus orientalis(L.) Franco> Quercus acutissima Carruth.> Acer elegantulum Fang et P. L. Chiu > Pinustabuliformis > Robinia pseudoacacia> Pinus thunbergii Parl. > the mixture forest of Acutissima and arborvitae > Shrubbery forest > the mixture forest of Acutissima and Black Locust > cash tree. So, in order to ensure the quantity and quality of security and to achieve the sustainable use of Huangqian reservoir, the area of cash tree shoud be reduced and the scale of planting area of pine and oak forest should be increased in the management of the forest in the Upper stream of Huangqian reservoir.
