Highly pathogenic PRRS (HP-PRRS) is a highly contagious disease caused by Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV). When it was epidemic, the farmers of pig suffered heavy losses. During 2010-2013, the project was launched about highly pathogenic PRRS vaccine immunization to promote in Changsha, Hengyang County, Dongkou County, Hanshou County of Hunan Province. By household surveys and data collection methods, writer investigated the clinical effect of highly pathogenic PRRS live vaccine application before and after implementation of the project on Hanshou. The dataes of two-scale aquaculture demonstration farm were focus analyzed so that the scientific assessment of immune effects was done and the presence problem of post-vaccine issues was found for producers and primary animal disease control agency reference. The survey is divided to three parts:(1) Assessing immunization effect of Highly pathogenic PRRS live vaccine by antibody titer.(2) Investigating clinical effect of highly pathogenic PRRS vaccine on Hanshou.(3) Investigating clinical effect of aquaculture demonstration farm. The Investigation shows that the prevention and control of highly pathogenic PRRS promoted since January of 2010 on Hanshou. The results is significant. Before the project, the antibody levels of highly pathogenic PRRS was only 21.98 percent, After the project implementation, the antibody levels of highly pathogenic PRRS reached 87.2%. Also, comparing results before and after implementation, the PRRS incidence fell 23.28 points on Hanshou. The death rate of PRRS has declined 13.3 percent. The treatment costs of PRRS fell an average 26.51 yuan per head. The cost of innocent treatment was decreased by 99.4%. The sow culling rate dropped 10.53 points. The number of live pigs weaned per sow annually for increased 5.33, slaughter pigs feed conversion improved 0.35 coefficient.
