The effects of substitution of cinnamyl aldehyde preparations for antibiotics in nursery pig and growing pig diet were studied. There were two experiments in this paper. The effects of substitution of cinnamyl aldehyde preparations for aureomycin and bacitracin zinc in nursery pig diet were studied in the experiment 1 The effects of substitution of cinnamyl aldehyde preparation for colistin and bacitracin zinc in growing pig diet were studied in the experiment 2.In the experiment 1,180 42-day-old healthy three-way crossbred (Duroc X Landrace X Yorkshire) nursery pigs were selected and divided into three groups, i.e. the control group, the experimental group A and B according to the similar weight and the same sex ratio,60 pigs in each group with 15 pigs per repeat. The control group pigs were fed to the common diet containing aureomycin, bacitracin zinc. The experimental group A and B pigs were respectively fed to the common diet substituted cinnamyl aldehyde preparation A or B for aureomycin and bacitracin zinc. The feeding experimental period was 21 days. The feeding experimental results were as follows: compared with the control group, the diarrhea rate and diarrhea index of the experimental group A and B pigs decreased significantly (P<0.05). ADG and FCR of the experimental group A and B raised, and the ADG in the experimental group B pigs reached significant level (P< 0.05). TP in the experimental group A and B pig serum increased significantly (P< 0.05); the activity of GPT in the experimental group pig serum decreased, and that in the group B reached significant level (P<0.05); the activity of GOT in the experimental group B pig serum was significantly higher (P< 0.05); the activities of SOD; CAT and GSH-Px and T-AOC in the experimental group A and B pig serum increased significantly (P<0.05) or very significantly (P<0.01); MDA in the experimental group A and B pig serum decreased very significantly (P< 0.01). CSFV-Ab, PRRSV-Ab and PCV2-Ab in the experimental group A and B pig serum increased, and some parameters reached significant level (P<0.05); PRV antibody in the experimental group B pig serum was significantly higher (P<0.05).In the experiment 2,180 63-day-old healthy three-way crossbred (Duroc X Landrace X Yorkshire) growing pigs were selected and divided into three groups, i.e. the control group, the experimental group A and B according to the similar weight and the same sex ratio,60 pigs in each group with 15 pigs per repeat. The control group pigs were fed to the common diet containing colistin and bacitracin zinc. The experimental group A and B pigs were respectively fed to the common diet substituted cinnamyl aldehyde preparation A or B for colistin and bacitracin zinc. The feeding experimental period of each experiment was 28 days. The feeding experimental results were as follows:compared with the control group, the diarrhea rate and diarrhea index of the experimental group A and B pigs decreased significantly (P<0.05); ADG and FCR of the experimental group raised significantly (P< 0.05); the concentration of TP, the activity of CAT, SOD, GSH-Px and T-AOC in pig serum increased (P<0.05 or P<0.01); MDA in the experimental group pig serum decreased significantly (P< 0.05) or very significantly (P<0.01), the activity of GPT in the experimental group pig serum decreased, and that in the group B reached significant level (P<0.05); CSFV-Ab, PRV-Ab, PRRSV-Ab and PCV2-Ab in the experimental group pig serum was significantly higher (P< 0.05), FMDV-Ab in the experimental group B pig serum was significantly higher (P<0.05) FMDV-Ab and IgG in the experimental group pig serum increased. The results of two experiments suggested that:?cinnamyl aldehyde preparations could substitute for aureomycin and bacitracin zinc in nursery pig diet and for colistin and bacitracin zinc in growing pig diet, and the applied effects of cinnamyl aldehyde preparations were better;?cinnamyl aldehyde preparations could effectively control pig diarrhea;?cinnamyl aldehyde preparations could improve ADG of nursery and growing pigs and FCR;?cinnamyl aldehyde preparations could remarkably ameliorate nutritionally biochemical metabolism of pigs;?the applied effects of cinnamyl aldehyde preparation B seemed better than that of cinnamyl aldehyde preparation A.
