Effects Different Feed Additive On Growth Performance And Carcass Quality Of Pigs

Abstract/Summary:
As the improving of people's living level,their demand on quality and quantity of protein supply are also rising.In China,especially in Yunnan,more than 70%of animal products are from pig.The safe and secure supply of pork becomes a urgent issue to be solved by everyone working on livestock industry.Microbial growth promoter,phytase,herbal medicine additives and flavomycin are used in the diets to compare their effects on the growth performance,digestibility and carcasses quality in this study.It is aimed at screening of feed additives apart from antibiotics,the results are as followings:1 The results of fattening experiment indicate that the weight gain of phytase added group is significantly higher than other three groups,the biggest difference is 12.3%,the feed:gain ratio is 2.80:1,decreasing by 9.4%.For economic return,the phytase added group is 80Yuan more than that of herbal medicine added group and 60Yuan more than that of flavomycin added group,either for weight gain income or net income,on per head basis.The results show that phytase has fairly good effects on promoting fattening pig growth economic benefit.2 The results of digestion and metabolism experiment indicate that both phytase and flavomycin can significantly improve digestion and metabolism of protein in fattening pig,the phytase can also decrease the excretion of total P and N,which can save feed cost and reduce environment pollution.3 The results of slaughter experiment indicate that the addition of phytase and flavomycin can increase the lean meat percentage of finishing pig carcass,decrease fat retaining,but does not have significant influence on carcass quality and muscle nutrients.4 Conclusion:The application of green feed additives such as microbial growth promoter and phytase can not only reduce feeding cost,but improve carcass quality and reduce environment pollution also in middle and later stage of finishing pig,they are good alternatives of feed additives apart from antibiotics.
