Study Of Environmental Art Design On Rural Bed And Breakfast Hotels Based On Experiential-tourism

The “Experiential-tourism” has sprang up all over China recently combine with the rapid development of the Experiential Economy and leisured tourism.This increasingly new mode is quite different from the traditional tourism.Meanwhile the rural tourism becomepopular among the experiential tourism,and the rural B&B(bed and breakfast hotels)have been increasingly emerging.However the author found that tourists have low satisfaction to rural B&B and their experiential atmosphere and environment have big space to promote,which provides a brand-new starting point for the environmental art design.Based on Environmental Aesthetics,Environmental Psychology,Sustainable development theory,this thesis try to study the environmental art design of rural B&B in the perspective of tourists' experience and needs.First of all,the study analyzes types of experience,tourists' needs by searching and collecting relevant literature,and finds deficiencies of current rural B&B.Secondly,two investigations of excellent examples of rural B&B: Sanmao House of Taomi Village and Zhuoye Cottage of Sanyi Village in Taiwan were conducted to analyze how these B&B build the memorable experience and feelings through environmental art design as well as vivid and interesting organization of experience activities.Then,the author draw conclusions about the principles of environmental art design for rural B&B through literature review,theory study and case analysis.From the process of tourists' experience that is entering experience settings,immersion in experience roles and immersion into the settings,the author puts forward strategies of environmental art design: 1,Constructing rural experience environment with special features.2,Building experience environment that makes tourists feel at home.3,Creating experience environment of mixture with new and old elements.Finally,the author proposes the strategies that will be applied in practical program of Lilongyuan rural B&B in Tongxin Village of Wuxue,Hubei Province,which takes the traditional architectural forms,the custom and morals of the people and the special produces of Lilongyuan into consideration to build a rural B&B environment,fully manifesting the characteristics of experience tourism.Hopefully the thesis could provide new ideas and strategies for design of the rural B&B in terms of an increasing background of the experiential tourism in China.By promoting the whole experiential environment of rural B&B,the author hopes more tourists will be attracted and the profound China's unique traditional culture of countryside will be inherited and activated through experiential tourism.Furthermore,the thesis try to contribute to revive China's rural economy and cultural conservation.
