The earthen sites preserved in the northwest region of China are facing various of diseases, and how to scientifically reinforce and repair the soil has always been a complicated issue. This research was based on the conservation plans of Baisikou pagoda sites in Yinchuan,Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The research proposed that after the restoration and reinforcement of the pagoda bases,it is necessary to cover the reinforced soil on the surface of the pagoda sites to avoid the new damages. The research studied on reinforcement materials for the covering soil of pagoda sites.According to the research status of earthen site preservation, this dissertation picked sticky-rice solution,SH solution and Potassium Silicate solution as the reinforcement materials, which are representative and commonly used as traditional organic, synthetic organic and inorganic materials. This dissertation also designed various physical experiments,anti-weathering experiments and freeze-thaw experiment. The research provided experimental support for the Baisikou pagoda sites conservation project and provided scientific gist for the similar projects as well. After the experiments and analyses, there were several main conclusions:(1)According to the results of physical experiments and anti-weathering experiments,1% sticky-rice solution and 1.0% SH solution are the best reinforcement for the soil on earthen sites, which have better performance among almost all the experiments and make the soil having better strength and anti-weathering ability.(2)Designed the freeze-thaw experiment to verify the antifreeze ability of reinforcement materials.According to the experiment result,1.0% SH solution and 1% sticky-rice solution have a better antifreeze ability, and the samples with the component in it can maintain the same physical strength and anti-weathering ability.(3)The dissertation studied the reason for the strength of the samples decreases with sticky-rice solution concentration magnifying, which may be caused by the stickyrice particles among the soil particles. The sticky-rice particles of` higher concentration have larger sizes and dissolve when the sample is beneath the water, which results in larger pores and worse strength.(4)When comparing the internal microstructures of different samples, the different reinforcements have various representations. The sticky-rice samples have smaller soil particles and larger specific surface area because the sticky-rice particles confine the soil's particle size. The SH material bonds the soil particles together so they have better strength and the whole sample has better homogeneity.
