The reinforced earth retaining wall is a flexible monolithic structure composed of lacing,packing,wall panels,cap stones and foundations.The advantages of reinforced earth retaining wall are low bearing capacity of foundation,light support structure,suitable for construction on soft foundation,simple construction,fast construction speed,less masonry,less investment,less land occupation,and beautiful appearance.The reinforcement soil and structure are flexible in the reinforced earth retaining wall.It has better overall deformation coordination ability under external force,which can not only better adapt to the larger deformation of the foundation,but also have good seismic performance compared with other types of retaining structure.However,the theoretical research of the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall is far behind its practice.Therefore,the study on the seismic design of the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall has been quite necessary.Based on the study of seismic characteristics of the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall and the design theory and engineering application of the encased reinforced earth retaining wall.This paper,on the basis of the data collected at home and abroad,combined with the results of test site,the shaking table test,the numerical and the theoretical analysis,in order to study the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall under the action of earthquake.The contents include:(1)The research findings on the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall at home and abroad are introduced,including mechanical research,numerical analysis,experimental research and design method research.Then the reinforcement mechanism of the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall is analyzed as well as the analysis on design methods and shortage of wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall in China's railway and highway.(2)The test site of wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall in Yunnan Yi station of GUANG(TONG)to DA(LI)railway is introduced.then the stress characteristics of wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall are analyzed according to the results of field test.(3)The shaking table test,numerical simulation and theoretical analysis are used to analyze the acceleration magnification,the geogrid tension,the dynamic earth pressure and the external stability of the wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall under the action ofdifferent seismic acceleration.It is concluded that it is not appropriate to analyze the state of reinforced earth retaining wall under seismic action based on the current code.(4)Based on the test results,the fracture surface and resistance stability of wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall under the earthquake action are analyzed and compared with the standard.It is found that it is not safe to calculate the analysis according to the current code.Based on the potential rupture surface of wrapped reinforced earth retaining wall,the change of corresponding reinforcement length is analyzed.
