The polychrome paintings(Caihua)of Jingfu Palace in the Forbidden City are the remains of the late Qing Dynasty. It is a representative of Burden-shaped Suzhou-style polychrome paintings(Baofushisuhua),with high historical value, artistic value, scientific value, social value and cultural value. On the basis of detailed study the overall polychrome paintings(Caihua)of Jingfu Palace, including wood structure and ceiling paintings of Jingfu Palace,Jingfu Gate and the gallery, the color information, the decoration, the existing situation and the disease situation of the painting were systematically investigated. In terms of the decoration, according to the overall situation of Jingfu Palace, this paper systematically summarizes the decorative features, decorative themes, color rules and painting grades, record the details of the polychrome paintings with charts. In terms of the color, this paper extracts the color information and match it accurately to a Pantone Color by using a handheld Pantone CAPSURE? and further analysis the existing color as well as fading and discoloration trends. In terms of the pigment composition,in the early detection part of the no lack of use color paint, access to Raman spectroscopy, and the establishment of comparative sample library for the late detection to provide a reference. In terms of pigment composition,in previous work a reference database with the measured micro-Raman spectra of the most common pigments used in Chinese polychrome paintings(Caihua)were developed and used for identification by comparison and matching. In the later period,Raman spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence spectroscopy were used to carry out field nondestructive testing and laboratory testing on the polychrome paintings(Caihua). In this way,the composition and process of the paintings are analyzed scientifically, which can provide scientific data and reference for the future protection and restoration of the polychrome paintings(Caihua)of Jingfu Palace. The whole paper is divided into eight chapters:The first chapter introduces the research background, the object and the significance, and summarizes the domestic and foreign related research present situation, and explains the research content, the method, the goal, the innovation points and the research frame. The second chapter introduced the late Qing Dynasty official Suzhou-style polychrome paintings type, decorative features, decorative themes and grade settings. And the use of colored pigments in different periods of Qing Dynasty, and uses micro-Raman spectroscopy to detect the components of the preserved pigments, which provides reference for the inspection data of Jingfu Palace. The the third chapter, according to the historical references to study the construction and history of Jingfu Palace,to further analyze the period and type of paintings.Combing the type of color painting, decorative features and decorative themes, and save the situation for further analysis. In the fourth chapter, through the way of non-destructive testing, the color information of the paintings is extracted and analyzed by a handheld device. In the fifth chapter,micro-Raman,micro-FTIR and XRF were used to analyze the pigment composition of the paintings through field nondestructive testing and laboratory sampling testing. In the sixth chapter, the preparation layer of the paintings were analyzed by sampling detection. In the seventh chapter, the instrument used in the inspection process of Gyeongbuk Palace is described in detail, and the advantages and disadvantages of the use of the instrument are analyzed, which can provide reference for detection and research. In the eighth chapter, summarize the article and look forward to the future polychrome paintings(Caihua)research work.
