Research On Rockery Space Of Jingyi Garden,Xiangshan Park

Rockery is a special element of gardening in classical Chinese gardens.Mr.Liu Dunzhen called it as the most flexible and specific gardening technique in Chinese gardens.Jingyi Garden of Xiangshan Park is the unique large mountainous garden among the "five famous gardens on the three mountains" and it enjoys a prestigious position.Jingyi Garden has many excellent rockery cases and it represents the achievements of rockery theory and technique of Imperial gardens in the Qing Dynasty to some degree,which is of great significance and value for research.Therefore,the study of the rockery cases in Jingyi Garden,Xiangshan Park is not only beneficial to inherit and protect the rockery art of royal gardens,but also has important reference value to the rockery construction of modern garden.This thesis takes the rockery space as the research object and starts from many rockery cases in Jingyi Garden of Xiangshan Park.Based on the previous studies on rockery material selection,design method,engineering and cultural image,the thesis analyzes spatial characteristics and functions of rockery and the research contents mainly contain the following aspects:The thesis takes rockeries as the ontology to analyze the relationship between the rockery and the four gardening elements,including architecture,water,path and vegetation in terms of the spatial composition,and summarizes the spatial characteristics and functions of different spatial combination types;starting from the space function,the thesis discusses the role of rockery in garden space and the space functions of rockery is summed up into three,respectively,separation function,hint function and guiding function;the thesis introduces the new surveying and mapping method and uses three-dimensional digital technology to make digital scanning on the rockery cases in Jingyi Garden to discuss the feasibility of the digital technology in rockery research;The author makes use of the three-dimensional digital technology of surveying and mapping to get the accurate rockery mapping drawing.This breaks the limitation that rockery only serves as the architectural scenery on garden drawing.Meanwhile,it also avoids the drawer's subjective influence on the description of the rockery,which makes the drawing of various gardening elements tend to be complete and objective;on the basis of accurate mapping,the thesis puts forward the quantitative research of rockery space and introduces the modern space research methods,including space syntax,visual perception analysis,etc.,to analyze the rockery space in Jingyi Garden,which makes the study of rockery space tend to rational analysis.
