Guangshuixi Jingguang Railway Buildings Protection And Reuse Research

The Beijing‐Guangzhou Railway was built in the late 19 th century.It was the first railway that the Qing government planned to build autonomously,and the Guangshui Station was one of the important stations on the Jingguang railway line at that time.The construction of the railway plays an important role in the economic development of Guangshui City in modern times.In 2008,Guangshui Railway Station was moved from the urban area to the suburbs.The former Guangshui Station stopped passenger transportation and changed its name to Guangshui West Railway Station.The Guangshui West Railway Station has a large number of railway sub‐buildings along the Jing‐Guang Railway,It has a history of nearly one century.This group of station buildings serving the railway has become an integral part of modern architecture in Guangshui.However,after the rectification of the railway lines in the early 21 st century,the railway sub‐buildings of the Guangshui West Station gradually degenerated,and many buildings face the crisis of being idled or even dismantled,and the landscape environment along the railway line is also dilapidated.Guangshui West Railway Station has experienced and witnessed the repeated changes of the Beijing‐Guangzhou Railway,carrying the historical memories of the citizens in a specific area,and also showing people the forms of railway sub‐buildings in different eras,Its research on protection and reuse has a positive significance for the inheritance and development of railway culture and for the optimization of regional landscape environment and sustainable development.The research of this paper mainly includes three parts:In the first part,based on the historical background of the construction of the railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station,the functionsof the existing railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station were summarized,and their construction characteristics were discussed in detail;The second part judges and enhances the value of the railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station,discusses its protection strategies,and discusses related protection cases and inspirations;The third part first proposed the reuse design target of the construction of the railway sub‐building of Guangshui West Railway Station.Secondly,the overall planning,single architectural design,and landscape environmental design of the railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station were separately discussed.Finally,it puts forward the development proposal and prospect of the construction of the railway sub‐building of Guangshui West Railway Station.It is hoped that the study in this paper will contribute to the protection of the railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station and will provide some useful reference for the reuse of the construction of the railway sub‐buildings at the Guangshui West Railway Station.
