| The early Architecture Department of Northeastern University set up in 1928;it had five young scholars from Department of Architecture University of Pennsylvania as teachers.It only recruited three years’ 24 students from 1928 to 1931,and only 19 graduates of two years,and five of them graduated from the Central University.Based on the elements of education activities,the early architectural education activities in Northeastern University can be divided into educational subjects,educational objectives,educational content,educational tools,educational environment and educational method to elaborate.Moreover,this paper selects educational subjects as a research object,study their architectural education activities and building designs and discusses the main architectural academic thought heritage between education educational subjects.Firstly,according to the specific social and historical background of architectural education of China,The second chapter analyzes both the social needs for modern architects and implementation of personnel training approaches,clarifies the social context of the early architectural education in Northeastern University.Secondly,according to the specific meaning of educational subjects including educator and educatees,the third and fourth chapters study specifically academic thought of them.The third chapter gradually clears up educators’ professional learning context,analyzes its achievements during the teaching experience,creative works and academic thought.The fourth chapter studies educate’ architectural education experience,analyses their graduation data,and exemplifies the typical architectural education achievement and creative pieces.They not only completed the main teaching task,but also spread academic ideas.Finally,educational subjects achieve the architectural heritage of academic thought between teaching and studying.During the early architectural education in Northeastern University,educators spread the "academic" teaching mode,promote the professional education and improve the teaching method.The educatee grasps the design methods and explores more about Chinese buildings with their teachers.In summary,this paper reveals the origins of architectural education between educator and educatee,through the analysis on the architectural design and achievements of education,clears that education subject evolved thus educational mode and education idea in their respective professional profession. |
