Study For Planning And Architecture Of Yihe Road District

Nanking YiHe Road district(nowadays known as "YiHe Mansions")were a series of high-grade residential areas,developed by Nanking Nationalist Government,which was the only one completed and preserved-well in a series of capital construction projects.The process of the planning and construction of the Yihe Road district reflects out the particularity and complexity of politics,economy,culture and society,during the turmoil and transformation of the country and the government.The vast majority of the buildings in the district reflect the diversity of residential building design among China's early modern architects,with the integration of Eastern and Western culture.This paper studies about the planning?construction and architectures in YiHe Road district,focusing on the development process and architectural phemomenon periodically.And the influential factors including history,culture,economy,technology are also involved in this paper.Chapter 1 is the introduction part,including the research origins,status,purpose and significance,research objects,methodology,main contents.Chapter 2 illustrates the construction background of YiHe Road district and give a brief introduction of the history of the north residential area in Nanking.This chapter is focused on the problems in the process of planning and construction,for example the land collection and establishment of territory,Chapter 3 periodically and separately analyzes the construction activities and individual architectures in the different building types.Chapter 4 undertake the second and the third chapter,the contents of Chapter 4 is mainly based on the status quo of modern residential YiHe Road district corresponding analyzed of the buildings,including the building's distribution,distribution type,the height distribution,property distribution.Chapter 5 studies several architectural features including western styles,Chinese styles,fusion styles buildings.And this chapter illustrate the problem through specific examples.In conclusion,this paper illustrates the construction history of Nanking YiHe Road district and the characteristics of early residential architectures through historical archives and spot investigation.
