The Research Of Modern Memorial Space Narrative Design

As the first appeared building space types in the development of human civilization,the modern memorial space is bearing the multiple social responsibility,such as helping human to remember the history,to enlighten the present,and to start tomorrow.With the development of economy and the progress of science and technology,the number of the memorial space is increasing,as well as the form and function of the building entities.People pay more and more attention to the appeal of the emotional experience of the audience and the memorial spirit of the space.It makes the increasing construction of the modern memorial space necessary,inevitability and urgency for the background of globalization,the process of the modernization,and the appeal of emotional experience in the space.And at the same time,it raises a series of problems.Such as the homogeneity of the space,the lack of emotional experience and the breakup of the connection with the environment.The experience of the audience is always the point of departure and foothold in the space construction.Based on the modern value and historical significance that the modern memorial space hold,the most important thing of the construction of the memorial space is to tell the story of the architecture,to interpret the spirit of the place,and to convey information to the audience effectively with the architectural symbols,so as to triggering the emotional resonance and build the experience of commemorative space.Based on the analyses,the narrative nature of the modern memorial space is analyzed by combining the narrative theory and space construction from three aspects:the three elements,the process and the narrative angle,and a set of narrative construction methods of the space is put forward.The thinking of the whole construction could be briefly explained as the interpretation of the story in the space—the determination of the theme conception—the transformation of the construct symbolic language—the specific form of the space.It should be constructed for a concrete form of space in many levels.According to the advance of the story,the development of sight and streamline is promoted.Through the space of entrance,transition,turning and export,the rhythm of the story is developed.From the four aspects of point,line,surface,and body of the story deconstruction,the memorial experience of the space is constructed in the symbolic language of the space node,sequence,region and the overall environment.And then the function of common rhetoric is analyzed.Using this method,the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall was taken as an example of experience construction,and evaluation was carried out from three aspects:the accuracy of the theme,the effectiveness of narrative in the symbolic language of the space,and the integrity of emotional expression in the space,in order to make a certain inspiration from the level of methodology to the construction of emotional experience in the memorial space.
