The Reaserch Of The Expression Of The Spirit Of Place Historical Events Memorial

The historical memorial is subordinate to museums and monuments. In recent years, with the growing socio-economic and cultural development, there is a growing emphasis on people’s spiritual level needs. In lots of works in historical memorials both from home and abroad, spirit is the dominant function. And the space creation of those works brings a strong heart shock and sympathy to the people.In this thesis, considering of the lack of spirit level in nowadays architectural creation, we should locate in the historical memorial, which have such strong spiritual power, and introduce the concept of the spirit of place. Through the research of the spirit of place theory and typical case study, combing theory with practice, the author hope to provide a reference for the same type of architecture creation and some inspiration for future architectural design.Firstly, the article introduced and summarized the concept of monuments and historical memorial, made research of the category and feature of the historical memorial, summarized its historical development, and mentioned the related problems of the same type of architecture design in our country.Secondly, the article made research about the theory of the spirit of place, and introduced and analyzed the source of the theory, the main level of research, the related connotation of the theory, to deepen the understanding of the relationship between people and places, and gave some supplements with analysis of relevant theories for this research.Moreover, taking the theory of place as guidelines for ruler and sense, the article proposed the operation pattern of the theory in historical memorial, from which to establish considering about the type of buildings. Then, from the three main aspects of the landscape environment, space features, and people, and the relationship between the people and their places, the author made place analysis and the spirit of place refining. Furthermore, the author made a In-depth study of typical cases to analyze how architects strengthen the interaction between people and place, in order to achieve the expression of the spirit of place, on the other hand, the author made a comparison of the instance, laying the foundation for methodology summarized below.Finally, based on previous knowledge, taking how to strengthen the interaction of the people and place in the same type of architecture as the key clue, combined with a number of real examples, from the three main aspects of the creation subject (architect), space, image, the author proposed some ideas and reference of methods for the expression of the spirit of place in historical memorial architectural creation.
