The matrix converter is a novel power electronics converter.Its inputs are directly linked to its outputs,which means that it is a kind of AC-AC inverters.Comparing with traditional AC-DC-AC inverters,the matrix converter has many advantages,such as compact size and adjustable power factor.Brushless DC motors(BLDCM)are a new kind of motors.They have the advantages of both DC motors and AC motors.BLDCMs have a simple structure,and run stable.Therefore,the study of the control system of a BLDCM with a matrix converter is important.The system will acquire the advantages of both BLDCMs and matrix converters.In a word,the subject above is of great practical significance.In order to realize the control system that drives a BLDC motor by a matrix converter,this paper has done the following work:Firstly,this paper analyzes the principles of the BLDCM and the matrix converter.Modelling is also done,which lays the foundation for the following research.Secondly,this paper proposes a new control algorithm which is based on a equivalent model for the control system of the BLDCM and the matrix converter.It is a kind of indirect control modulation.This paper builds the whole system for simulation with MATLAB/Simulink,and verifies the algorithm by simulation.The results of the simulation show that the algorithm proposed is effective.Then this paper analyzes the four-step current switching method for the two-way switch,and abstracts the process into the form of the finite state machine.The paper realizes this method by a FPGA chip,verifying the effectiveness of the method.In the end,this paper designs the hardware and software of the control system.The designs include the selection of power switches and its driving circuits,the design of the sampling circuits and the control circuits.This paper draws the flow charts of the software.Debugging and experiment of the hardware circuits was also carried out.All the work of this paper lays the foundation for the prototype of the system.
